Also a late Northern Wheatear, the OSPREY caught a Tench early morning but not after, the LITTLE GULL until lunchtime, 16 Cattle Egrets, a Great White Egret, a female Goosander on the Sailing Lake, the adult Yellow-legged Gull, eight Pochards, nine Wigeon, six Chiffchaffs, a Blackcap, 21 Lesser Redpolls, 54 Siskins, a Grey Wagtail, two Grey Plovers, 100+ Golden Plovers and 102 Fieldfares. Chavenage Green area     Birds today included a hunting female MERLIN, a male Sparrowhawk, two Red Kites, two Buzzards, two Kestrels, c20 Corn Buntings, ten Yellowhammers, six Linnets, 20 Meadow Pipits and 100+ Fieldfares. (Chris Newton).

Forest of Dean    At 8am a Kingfisher flew off from the nursery pond at Nagshead. At lower hide, a juvenile male Kingfisher fishing from the shallower pond. Also a Nuthatch, a Great Spotted Woodpecker and a Fieldfare heard. At Cannop ponds, 28 Mandarins (23m, 5f), 14 Tufted Ducks, four Little Grebes, two Wigeon, a Gadwall and a noisy Fallow buck W of the B road. (Iain Crawford).

Leigh Meadows     This morning 12 Mallards, a Grey Heron, two Snipe, a Buzzard, a pair of Stonechats, a Fieldfare, three Redwings. Also Narrow-leaved Water Dropwort had flowered after the hay cut. (Mike Smart).

Cobney Meadows     This morning four Canada Geese, 35 Mallards, a Grey Heron and 80 Black-headed Gulls today.  (Mike Smart).

Lower Lode     At the brick-pits this evening a Mute Swan, 20 Greylags flew S, 80 roosting Cormorants and five Fieldfares. (Mike Smart).

WWT Slimbridge     A juvenile PECTORAL SANDPIPER with the Lapwing flock on South Lake at 9am but they all flew off. A Swallow over the Dumbles and the Lesser White-fronted Goose of unknown origin still. (Martin McGill).
