Cotswold Water Park West     Four 4 Cattle Egrets mid afternoon in a field on the Glos side of the stream, just E of Reed Hide at Pits 68a/b, SW of Cerney Wick. (Clive Scarlett).

Chavenage Lane & Chavenage Green     At least 20-25 Red Kites, 400+ Chaffinches, five Kestrels, 80+ Meadow Pipits, 110+ Fieldfares, 800+ Common Gulls, four Stonechats, and a mixed flock of 1000+ pre-roost corvids, an estimated 600 of them being Jackdaws. (Terry Grant). Also a distant juvenile Goshawk, two Buzzards, c12 Long-tailed Tits, a Song Thrush, two Red-Legged Partridges and c200 Fieldfares which arrived late afternoon. (Chris Newton).

Stroud     A LESSER SPOTTED WOODPECKER briefly flying around a mature garden this morning, also nine Redwings and a Fieldfare over. (Terry Grant).

Guscar Rocks/Aylburton Warth     WeBS count today 465 Canada Geese, 20 Greylags, a Pink-footed Goose, a Shelduck, four Wigeon, 95 Teal, two Mallards, nine Grey Herons, a Lapwing, 40 Dunlin, 475 Curlews, 45 Redshanks, 50 Black-headed Gulls, two Common Gulls and ten Herring Gulls. Also ten Skylarks, 110 Meadow Pipits, two Ravens and 60 Carrion Crows at Guscar. At Woorgreens E of Speech House Woodlands carpark two Ravens, c6 Crossbills over calling and several parties of Siskins feeding high. On the heath two Green Woodpeckers, a pair of Stonechats and a Buzzard, also a Treecreeper beside the main W side track. At Cannop upper pond birds included a drake Gadwall and a Little Grebe with 3-4 Coal Tits, a Marsh Tit and a Nuthatch visiting the feed tray. WWT Slimbridge     The BARRED WARBLER for a 4th day from the Estuary Tower in the hedges and bushes below. Generally elusive but present until 4:40pm at least. Purton    An immature POMARINE SKUA flew SW along the E bank chasing a Herring Gull at 10:02am. An ARCTIC SKUA flew downriver at 9:40am. Five DARK-BELLIED BRENT GEESE flew downriver at 9:30am. Also two Cattle Egrets and a Marsh Harrier. (Francis Steuck).

Netheridge Farm     A male RING OUZEL at the Barn Owl Centre this morning with a few Redwings and Song Thrushes. A very scarce bird away from the hills. Also Lesser Redpoll and Fieldfare over. (Mark Hobson).

WWT Slimbridge     A juvenile AMERICAN GOLDEN PLOVER on the Dumbles late afternoon, the first since 2007. (Martin McGill). On the Top New Piece 30+ Ruff and five Spotted Redshanks and a Garganey from Kingfisher hide. (Slimbridge Sightings). At Middle Point at 12:49pm two Carrion Crows chasing a LEACH’s PETREL. It stayed until 1:30pm when chased off by Herring Gulls. Also 13 Common Cranes, four Grey Plovers, 49 Golden Plovers, a Curlew Sandpiper, 47 Dunlins, two Great White Egrets, at least 26 Curlews and a Redshank. (Ken Heron). 18 Common Cranes spread out on the far side of the Estuary from Slimbridge this morning. (Neil Smart).
