Ryeford     Over silage fields today just up from the bypass, 11 Buzzards and six Red Kites this morning. All were gone by 2:30pm the Buzzards went very high and dispersed and the Kites drifted west. (Paul Sutton).

Three singing Wood Warblers heard in the woodland at the N end of New Beechenhurst Inclosure and the W side of Crabtree Hill. A singing Garden Warbler and Willow Warbler heard at the NW corner of the heath. At Nagshead a Great Spotted Woodpecker briefly at the Nursery Pond. Also, from the Short Trail, three begging juvenile Dunnocks, a Spotted Flycatcher and three Long-tailed Tits. From the path to Campbell Hide a Goldcrest and 1+ juvenile Song Thrush. From the hide birds coming to bathe included a female Pied Flycatcher and a female Blackcap; also a Great Spotted Woodpecker attempting to raid a nest box with metal reinforced entrance.
