Maisemore     This afternoon a Hobby, a Kingfisher, ten House Martins, four Sand Martins, five Swifts, two Swallows, five Blackcaps, a Willow Warbler, seven Chiffchaffs, three Goldfinches, three Song Thrushes, a Pied Wagtail, a Whitethroat, a drake Tufted Duck, five Mallards, seven Moorhens including two chicks, two Red-legged Partridges, two Great Spotted Woodpeckers, a Greenfinch, three Little Egrets, a Buzzard and two Mute Swans. Cleeve Hill     Between West Down car park and Belas Knap long barrow today a Willow Warbler, a Chiffchaff, a Blackcap, a Whitethroat, a Lesser Whitethroat, a Swallow and a Swift. At Belas Knap two pairs of Redstarts, a Red Kite, a Kestrel, a Buzzard and a Raven. Also Dingy Skipper, Small Tortoiseshell, Red Admiral, Holly Blue, Small Heath butterflies and a Burnet Companion moth. (Keith White).

Coombe Hill Meadows    Four Little Ringed Plovers, nine Ringed Plovers, a Dunlin, two Oystercatchers, seven Redshanks, two Curlews, two Yellow Wagtails, two Swifts, a Little Egret, a Little Grebe chick, a Garden Warbler, Sedge Warblers, a Lesser Whitethroat and a Whitethroat. Also a Roebuck. Along the canal a Redstart, a Chiffchaff, a Great Spotted Woodpecker, a Cetti’s Warbler, a Skylark and a Little Owl. (Les Ditchburn).

Dymock     12 Red Kites, two Buzzards, two Kestrels, 20+ Lesser Black-backed gulls and 50+ corvids all taking good advantage of silaging. (Eden Tanner).

WWT Slimbridge     The male WHITE-SPOTTED BLUETHROAT gave brief perched views at 8:48am and 9:55am and a couple of flight views, it wasn’t singing today. No further reports received today. The drake Goldeneye still in the Eider Pen, a mobile pair of Common Terns and a Pochard on South Lake. A Red Kite past Hogarth hide, a Common Sandpiper and the Common Crane chick briefly in view. Coombe Hill Meadows     This afternoon an adult SPOONBILL, a Little Ringed Plover, a male Cuckoo calling, a Common Sandpiper and four Lesser Whitethroats along the canal. (Ken Heron & Jenny Jones). This evening the SPOONBILL still and a Great White Egret, two Curlews, five Lapwings, two Redshanks, a Ringed Plover and three Yellow Wagtails. (Helen Preston Gibb).

Alderley     A male and female Siskin feeding together on the bird table this afternoon. (Vic Polley).

WWT Slimbridge     The BLACK-WINGED STILT around the grounds still today. This afternoon it was on the Tack Piece and showing well. (Slimbridge Sightings). The male WHITE-SPOTTED BLUETHROAT reverted to type singing and calling sporadically between 8:30-11:45am and showing once in flight at 10am at Middle Point. It did a few brief display flights between 1:30-2pm but did not perch in view between 8:30am-2pm. It was not seen again by 3:30pm and as far as I know there are no later reports. Also a passing Marsh Harrier. (MK).

Frampton     Around the pools a Little Grebe with three young, two pairs of Mute Swans with 11 cygnets, five Hobbies, a Sparrowhawk, five Common Terns, two Oystercatchers and ten Shelducks over. (Nick Goatman).

Cleeve Hill    At the Bill Smyllie reserve a singing Tree Pipit, several singing Willow Warblers and Blackcaps. and a Buzzard. Butterflies included many Small Blues, Small Heath, Marsh Fritillary, Dingy Skipper, Brimstone and Common Heath and Cinnabar moths.
