Brockworth     On the garden feeders today, a pair of Blackcaps, three Greenfinches (1m, 2f) and a Pied Wagtail feeding on the floor. (John Miles).

Tewkesbury     At Mitton in a partly flooded shallow field along the River Avon immediately S of Bredons Hardwick pits, a Mute Swan, 105 Greylags, ten Canada Geese, 30 Wigeon, 61 Teal, three Shovelers and 220 Lapwings. (Mike Smart).

Saul Warth     An adult KITTIWAKE on the bank by the Sewage Works first thing this morning. (Gordon Hodgson). An adult KITTIWAKE, possibly the same, flew over Hock Cliff/Framilode church with three Black-headed Gulls, towards Epney at 11am. (Martin McGill). At high tide the wintering Common Sandpiper still, 13 Grey Plovers, 31 Dunlins, four Curlews, three distant Bewick’s Swans, four Wigeon, a Shelduck, a Rock Pipit, a Grey Wagtail and a Mistle Thrush. Cotswold Water Park West     An adult CASPIAN GULL and an adult Great Black-backed Gull at Pit 16 tonight. Also a probable adult Herring x Lesser Black-backed Gull hybrid. (Rich Hearn).

Ashleworth Ham     This afternoon 83 Lapwings, 124 Canada Geese, 94 Greylags, 19. Mallards, two Little Grebes, 23 Teal, 16 Wigeon, a Gadwall, six Shovelers, two Grey Herons, 17 Fieldfares and 75 Starlings. (John Fletcher).

Gloucester     The male BLACK REDSTART and a Peregrine still on the Cathedral today. (Speckled Wood Wildlife). 12 Teal on Castle Meads, a male Stonechat alongside the cycle track and a female Kestrel and two Cormorants flying downriver and two adult Grey Herons on Port Ham. Around the pool area this afternoon a Water Rail and Cetti’s Warbler, three Chiffchaffs, a Sparrowhawk, five Reed Buntings and a pair of Stonechats and another Chiffchaff by the River Leadon at Over. Gloucester     At Horsbere Brook Flood Storage Area this morning a Snipe, two Reed Buntings, a Grey Heron and five Teal on and around the flood storage pond. Also ten Linnet, 12 Pied Wagtails, 15 Meadow Pipits and a flock of +100 Redwings feeding on the adjacent farmland with a handful of Fieldfare mixed in, a Buzzard over the A417 pursued by crows and a Kestrel over the Mound being mobbed by Magpies. Plusterwine    Between Plusterwine and Guscar Rocks at high tide this morning, 290 Wigeon, 240 Curlews, 50 Dunlins, 80 Redshanks, 12 Oystercatchers, 12 Shelducks, three Grey Herons, two Cormorants, seven Collared Doves, a Buzzard, a Kestrel, 40 Rooks, eight Redwings, 25 Meadow Pipits, eight Long-tailed Tits and 70 Starlings. Highnam Woods     This afternoon three Marsh Tits visiting the feeders with numerous Coal Tits, Blue Tits, Great Tits, a Chaffinch and a Nuthatch. Also in the woods two Goldcrests, nine Long-tailed Tits, seven Goldfinches, a Wren, another Nuthatch and a couple of Dunnocks. Heard only several Jays alarm-calling, a Raven, a Stock Dove and a Buzzard out past the W edge of the woods. At sunset a Kestrel was perched immediately across the A40 from the reserve entrance. Forest of Dean     Wigeon still present on the pond, difficult to ascertain numbers as some were flying in and out both ends of the pond. An odd Gadwall type drake with a female Mallard. (Chris Keeling).

Coberley     Four Red Kites circling this evening over fields E of Coberley church. (Rose Lennard).

Tresham area     Early morning a Little Owl, two Peregrines and two Corn Buntings. (Paul Rich).

Stonehouse     A redhead Goosander on the Stroudwater canal by Boakes Drive at 10:15am. Later relocated by St Cyr’s church. Also a male Kingfisher at the Ocean and around Bonds Mill. Cheltenham     At 11am this morning two Little Egrets in Benhall brook c50 yards from the bridge, and two Great Spotted Woodpeckers chasing each other in the top of a tree in Benhall Avenue. (David Norman).

Winchcombe     At least six Red Kites circling over Sudeley Hill at dusk. (Gill & Andrew Worthington).

Warden Hill/Leckhampton     This morning three male Bullfinches, male and female Blackcap, a Green Woodpecker, a Great Spotted Woodpecker, Redwing, four tit species including Long-tailed and Coal, a Muntjac and two Foxes. (Eric Harris).

No reports today. Turkey at lunchtime in Quedgeley, but no sign after 2pm. Merry Christmas all!

Coombe Hill Meadows     A Little Owl briefly, a Great Spotted Woodpecker, a Goldcrest, a Stonechat, two Blackcaps, a Cetti’s Warbler, three Chiffchaffs, two Stock Doves, a Buzzard, a Skylark and numerous Long-tailed Tits, Goldfinches, Fieldfares and Redwings. Fairly quiet on the scrapes from Grundon hide late morning with c80 Wigeon, c40 Lapwing, c20 Pintail, c6 Teal, c30 Greylags, c20 Canada Geese, a Shoveler, a Gadwall, a Tufted Duck and two Mute Swans. A Red Kite also went over headed N which stirred all the Wigeon and Lapwing up briefly. (Caroline Quinn/Paul Clark).

Chavenage Lane area     A female MERLIN, two Red Kites, six Buzzards, 450+ Fieldfares, 380+ Redwings, two flocks of mixed corvids, totalling 1800+ and a flock of 1000+ Woodpigeons. (Terry Grant).

Berkeley shore     At Severn House Farm early morning three Rock Pipits, ten Dunlins and seven Redshanks. (Paul Rich).

Halmore     A Sparrowhawk took a Collared Dove in the garden this morning. (Chris Newton).

Quedgeley     A Red Kite over Hardwicke Farm at 3:55pm, it headed through Quedgeley and eventually I lost it E over Rose Tree Farm. (MK).
