Also three Chiffchaffs, four Goldcrests, a Treecreeper, 8+ Long-tailed Tits, Blue and Great Tits, 3+ Skylarks, a Red Kite, several Buzzards, 50 Stock Doves, a Little Owl, a Great Spotted Woodpecker, a Green Woodpecker and a probable Lesser Spotted Woodpecker calling but not seen. Park by the church, the walk is about 20 mins, wellies advised. The footpath goes between 2 cowsheds in the farmyard at the end of the lane, this is OK. Gloucester    The RICHARD’S PIPIT at Sudmeadow again briefly at SO804179 close to the big stand of willows on the bend of the river at midday. Then flew to the far SW end of the tip. (Andy Jayne). Park in Hempsted village, do not block the church, school or private dwellings. Walk towards St Swithun’s Church and walk left immediately before it down Rectory Lane. At the end of the lane go through the gate into the field, cross the field and go through the obvious gap in the hedge. Walk across the second field to the far left corner to a metal gate with a collapsed tree across it. Duck under and go through the gate onto a very muddy and slippery path. Walk to the end and go through the gate. This is the Severn Way with the river in front of you. Turn right and follow the Severn Way towards Gloucester to the tip at Sudmeadow. The pipit was originally by the derelict white Land Rover on the old tip at SO814183. The pipit could be anywhere along the edge of the tip or in the sheep fields before the tip. Wellies essential.
