Upham Meadow     The meadow is still completely under water, but the level has dropped a bit, and more of the flood bank is now exposed. Birds included six Mute Swans, 120 Canada Geese, two Shelducks, a male Mandarin, 315 Wigeon, nine Gadwalls, five Teal, 11 Pintails, seven Shovelers, a Grey Heron, two Oystercatchers, six Lapwings, 16 Curlews, 50 Black-headed Gulls, ten Lesser Black-backed Gulls and seven Pied Wagtails. Nailsworth     This afternoon on the cycle track behind Dunkirk Mills four Lesser Redpolls and a Goldcrest singing. Also a Little Egret near to Egypt Mill. A Grey Wagtail and two Little Grebes on Ruskin Mill lakes and a Tawny Owl calling from the woodland edge. A pair of Marsh Tits in hazels, two Buzzards and a Peregrine over. Coombe Hill Meadows     The site is inaccessible via the canal towpath, but could be approached from the Apperley side. Birds included 140 Wigeon, many Teal calling from the flooded hedge bottoms, 20 Pintails, seven Shoveler, a pair of Oystercatchers, four Curlews, two Great Spotted Woodpeckers drumming, 200 Redwings and at least five Yellowhammers on stubble fields.
