WWT Slimbridge     The white-spotted BLUETHROAT was still at Middle Point this morning and sang showed very briefly early on. It continues to be very elusive and mornings seem to be the best chance, although there were no further reports today in strong winds. No sign of the Black-necked Grebe either. (Martin McGill). Frampton     An Avocet chick still surviving at Splatt Bridge this evening with both adults there, two male Yellow Wagtails, a Grey Wagtail, a Marsh Harrier hunting over the 100-Acre, 3-4 Common Terns fishing on the canal and c60 Swifts. (Gordon Hodgson).

Gloucester    At Horsbere Brook Flood Storage Area this morning at least three Yellow Wagtails (breeding plumage male, two juveniles), a Skylark and a Buzzard being mobbed by a crow seen over the farmland to the E. Around the pond and over the Mound, a male Linnet, four Whitethroats (one singing), three singing male Reed Buntings and two female Reed Buntings collecting nesting material, a singing Sedge Warbler and c18 Swifts hawking for insects. Highnam     In the meadow adjacent to Lassington Wood SO802205 a Red Kite soaring over the wood, nine Swifts, seven Linnets on overhead wires and two Yellowhammers singing from the hedgerows. (David Nicholls).

Ashleworth Ham     This evening seven Lapwings including 3 large chicks, 72 Mallards, 11 Greylags, a drake Teal, a Wigeon, three Moorhens with one large chick, three Grey Herons, three Mute Swans, two Chaffinches, three Blackcaps, two Chiffchaffs, a House Martin, a Whitethroat, two Song Thrushes, a male Reed Bunting and a female Kestrel. WWT Slimbridge     A juvenile BLACK-NECKED GREBE all day on South Lake on the deep lake but sometimes in cover in the far left hand corner. (Martin McGill). No reports of the Bluethroat today in very windy conditions.

Coombe Hill Meadows    Two QUAIL, a Wood Sandpiper, a Green Sandpiper, two Great White Egrets and two Oystercatchers today. (Ian Hull).

Forest of Dean     Between Lower Mitcheldean and Longhope c15 Swifts feeding above the trees and fields, a Buzzard, three juvenile Carrion Crows, a Swallow, two House Martins, six Goldfinches and two juvenile House Sparrows being fed by a parent. (Chris Keeling).

Charlton Kings Common     Early morning four Tree Pipits, three Willow Warblers, three Chiffchaffs, two Blackcaps, a Whitethroat (all still in song), four Yellowhammers, several Linnets, young Green and Great Spotted Woodpeckers and a male Siskin on a garden feeder. (Chris Furley).

Frampton     The Ross’s Goose and the Bar-headed x Snow Goose hybrid with the Barnacle Geese and a pair of Great Crested Grebes with two young on Court Lake. Winchcombe     A Red Kite overhead early morning. In the garden, a Great Spotted Woodpecker, young Coal Tits being fed, families of Goldfinches, and three Swifts circling. (Gill Worthington).

Tewkesbury     On Severn Ham a pair of Mute Swans nesting on Mill Avon, a Grey Heron, three Cormorants over, a Curlew, a Cuckoo still singing, five singing Skylarks, 1 or 2 Sedge Warblers still singing, two Ravens and at least five singing Reed Buntings. (Mike Smart).

WWT Slimbridge     The white-spotted BLUETHROAT was again at Middle Point early morning but it was only heard singing twice and gave a brief view. Unfortunately it didn’t show again today. Also on South Lake a Wood Sandpiper, a breeding plumage Ruff, 4+ Green Sandpipers and a Little Ringed Plover. (Tim Jukes). Coombe Hill Meadows     From Grundon hide a Green Sandpiper, four Little Egrets, a Lapwing chick, a Little Ringed Plover and a Hobby hawking dragonflies for 15 minutes. (Les Ditchburn). Frampton  A fast growing Avocet chick at Splatt Bridge with two adults this afternoon, also two Hobbies, a singing male Yellow Wagtail and a Weasel crossing the canal. (Gordon Hodgson).

Stonehouse    A Mute Swan territory battle on the canal, near the church. A Dipper on the Frome near Beard’s Mill. A male Kestrel, a Buzzard, a Chiffchaff, a Green Woodpecker, a Great Spotted Woodpecker and a Grey Heron nearby. (Paul Sutton).

Cotswold Water Park East     At Whelford this afternoon at Pit 111b birds included ten Tufted Ducks, two Mute Swans, three Great Crested Grebes, three Gadwalls, 39 Cormorants, two Willow Warblers, two Garden Warblers, three Blackcaps and two Reed Buntings. At Pit 111a six Pochards (1 adult & 5 large juvs), eight Tufted Ducks, four Great Crested Grebes (2 juv), two Mute Swans and three Chiffchaffs. At Pit 111 seven Long-tailed Tits and 23 Black-headed Gulls. At Pit 126 two Oystercatchers, seven Tufted Ducks, two Great Crested Grebes, a Great Spotted Woodpecker and two Blackcaps. At Pit 127, 67 Greylags, 27 Canada Geese, 30 Tufted Ducks, three Red Crested Pochards, four Great Crested Grebes, 250+ Black-headed Gulls in a colony and two Blackcaps. (John Fletcher).

Forest of Dean     At Cannop Upper Pond this morning a Great Spotted Woodpecker, a Jay, two House Martins, an adult and three juvenile Ravens, four Tufted Ducks and three juvenile Mandarins. (Chris Keeling).

WWT Slimbridge     The white-spotted BLUETHROAT sang from the foreshore reedbeds early morning again at Middle Point but was not seen in poor conditions. Despite it being looked for for the rest of the day it was only seen by Les Ditchburn for c10 seconds at 10:30am and it didn’t sing or show again. Also a Grasshopper Warbler reeling on and off still and a Peregrine over. (MK).

Frampton    This morning at Splatt Bridge a Red Kite flew over the church headed towards the lakes, a pale Buzzard, a female Marsh Harrier low over the 100-Acre, a Cormorant, a Little Egret, a Skylark and an Avocet. At Court lake, a Little Egret on the island, the Bar-headed x Snow Goose hybrid with the Barnacle Geese, a Raven over and a dark Buzzard near Ley Bistro. (Paul Sutton).

Forest of Dean     A pair of Pied Flycatchers and fledglings, a pair of Redstarts and a Spotted Flycatcher near Lower Hide, Nagshead. On Cannop ponds bird table a Marsh Tit, a Coal Tit, a Jay, a Great Spotted Woodpecker and a Nuthatch. (Bettie Sloane).

Cam/Draycott     At least two Spotted Flycatchers between Halmore Mill and Upthorpe this morning, also Great Spotted Woodpecker, Green Woodpecker, Swifts and Swallows. (Mike Davis).

Whitminster     A Red Kite over Attwoolls being chased by a crow towards the M5 at 8:58am. (MK).

Frampton     At Court Lake today three Blackcaps, two Bullfinches, a Buzzard and a Tawny Owl. (Josh Adamms). Early morning at Splatt Bridge a GREAT WHITE EGRET, an adult Avocet, two Common Terns and a distant female Marsh Harrier over WWT. (MK).

Around the pools today 50+ Swifts, a Hobby, a Grasshopper Warbler, four Yellow Wagtails, four Whitethroats, 27 Blackcaps, eight Chiffchaffs, four Cetti’s Warblers, nine Great Crested Grebes with four young, 112 Mute Swans with 6 cygnets, 30 Coots with six young, 75 Greylags with 9 goslings, 52 Barnacle Geese with one gosling and 30 Canada Geese with three goslings. (Nick Goatman). Still at least one Avocet chick at Splatt Bridge, both adults still present, these are likely a family displaced from WWT Dumbles scrape by a Fox and made it to Splatt via the river. Gloucester     A Cuckoo close to the wetland near Castlemeads car park calling for 2 hours between 6:30 to 8:30am. Also here on the 13th. (Robert McAllister).

Kilkenny viewpoint     Two Red Kites, a Raven, male and female Yellowhammer, several Whitethroats, a Bullfinch, two Skylarks, a  Willow Warbler, c20 Swifts and a Swallow. (Adam Waller).

Ebley     An OSPREY flew over the garden following the canal heading towards Stroud at 10:40am. (Martin Greenish/Michelle Davies).

Highnam Woods     At least two juvenile Nightingales seen and heard this evening. (Andy Jayne). Earlier a Marsh Tit, a Red Kite and five Swifts over. (Eric Harris).

Minsterworth Ham     Around the area today a pair of Oystercatchers with a half-grown chick, five Curlews, a Tufted Duck, a Sparrowhawk, a Peregrine, a Cuckoo, a Little Owl, ten Swifts, three Sand Martins and a Treecreeper. (Andy Jayne).

Elmore     A Cuckoo calling, two Kingfishers, two Cormorants, three Reed Warblers, a Sedge Warbler, a Whitethroat and seven Skylarks along the River Severn today. (James Barradine).

Upper Cam     A Common Crane flew over at 7pm, heading E. (Nigel Tucker).

Also this morning seven Mute Swans, a Canada Goose with six goslings, 100+ Mallards, a male Teal, four Grey Herons, two Coots and a family of four youngsters by the Wharf, 15 Lapwings and two Reed Warblers. Ashleworth Ham     Between 4-8pm birds included a Cuckoo, seven Lapwings (3 adults, 4 chicks), three Mute Swans, 54 Mallards, 12 Greylags, a Cormorant, five Grey Herons, two Moorhens, two Lesser Black-backed Gulls, three Chiffchaffs, seven Whitethroats, two Blackcaps, six House Martins, two Stock Doves, two Song Thrushes, a Great Spotted Woodpecker, a male Reed Bunting, a female Peregrine and a Buzzard.
