Chavenage Lane area     A ringtail HEN HARRIER hunting over fields near the Avening-Tetbury crossroads opposite the turn off to Chavenage at 12:55pm. It flew in the direction of Star Farm, but could not be relocated. Also 80+ Skylarks, 80+ Redwings, 75+ Fieldfares, 400+ Starlings and four Stonechats (2m, 2f). (Terry Grant).

Frampton     A female Goosander dropped into Splatt Bridge flashes at high tide, also 48 Curlews, 11 Redshanks, 11 Snipe in the reedbed, three Wigeon and 30 Black-tailed Godwits flying high N were the first of the year. (Gordon Hodgson).

Flooding is still extensive, birds today included eight Mute Swans, a Greylag, 40 Canada Geese, seven Shelducks, c1000 Wigeon, six Gadwalls, c750 Teal, 50 Mallards, 151+ Pintails, 40+ Shovelers, four Pochards, 14 Tufted Ducks, a Grey Heron, a Buzzard, 10+ Coots, an Oystercatcher, 2500 Lapwings and ten Golden Plovers, a Black-tailed Godwit, two Snipe, 50 Lesser Black-backed Gulls, ten Herring Gulls, 500+ Black-headed Gulls, two Great Spotted Woodpeckers, at least three singing Skylarks, ten Pied Wagtails, five Meadow Pipits, a Stonechat, 150+ Fieldfares, a Treecreeper and a singing Reed Bunting. Chavenage Road area     1+ Red Kites, 180+ Redwings, 75+ Fieldfares, 90+ Stock Doves feeding in a ploughed field and 60+ Golden Plovers feeding in another field nearby. Additionally, a hard weather movement of 250+ Lapwings and 30+ Golden Plovers flying S in several small flocks. (Terry Grant).

Stonehouse/Eastington     In fields below the canal near Beards Mill three Little Egrets, a Grey Heron, three Buzzards over together, three Snipe, a Goldcrest, a Green Sandpiper flew off high SW and a pair of Dippers along the paleo channel and along to Bond’s Mill. (Paul Sutton). From Eastington to the Sewage Works along the River Frome a Dipper, two Grey Wagtails, four Chiffchaffs, a pair of Stonechats, a Meadow Pipit, a Cormorant and a flock of Lapwings.
