Around the pools today two Goldeneyes, a Woodcock over in a pigeon flock, a late Common Sandpiper, a Green Sandpiper,a GREAT WHITE EGRET, a Yellow-legged Gull, 46 Gadwalls, ten Shovelers, 124 Teal, 46 Tufted Ducks, two Wigeon, 22 Cormorants, a Chiffchaff, 20 Fieldfares and 12 Redwings. Cotswold Water Park West     From 3pm until dusk a GREAT WHITE EGRET, a Little Egret, 65+ Wigeon, 50+ Tufted Ducks, 20 Gadwalls, five Shovelers, three Teal, four Water Rails heard, a Snipe, a Green Sandpiper, a very late Greenshank, a male Sparrowhawk, a Buzzard, a Barn Owl emerged at 4:55pm, a Kingfisher, 12 Meadow Pipits, a Grey Wagtail, 54 Fieldfares and three Redwings over, four Cetti’s Warblers singing, a Chiffchaff and three Reed Buntings. Bussage     First thing this morning on the garden feeders two Greenfinches and a rung Mealy Redpoll. Over the village several large flocks of Woodpigeons flying to Toadsmoor and Lypiatt woods up to 2000 birds in total. Also 40-50 Redwings and Fieldfares over. Three Goldcrests feeding in firs near Bussage Church. Maisemore     A Red Kite at Old Over Rd (about ¼ mile S of the Apiaries) at midday today. (Colin Edwards).

Nailsworth     A huge north easterly movement of Woodpigeons between 7:40 am and 11:20 am at least 60000 birds involved, and large numbers continued to move after the count period ended. (Terry Grant).

Cleeve Hill     Five RING OUZELS feeding on berries above the Washpool this morning. (Dave Pearce). Also a flock of seven Corn Buntings in a tree at the head of the Washpool Valley. Cheltenham     At 11:55am a Red Kite drifted quite low over Princess Elizabeth Way going W. (David Norman).

Longney     At the old orchards this evening two Little Owls, 35+ Fieldfares, 16 House Sparrows and a Buzzard. (John Fletcher). A Short-eared Owl reported here a couple of days ago. (Keith Turner).

Stroud     At Fromebanks N.R. a Dipper, two Grey Wagtails and a Buzzard being chased by a Great Spotted Woodpecker. (Richard Williams).

Netheridge Farm     Four Green Sandpipers flew S over the Barn Owl Centre before 8am. (Mark Hobson).

Whitminster     A Crossbill landed in the garden at 12:30pm and what was probably three more flew off low SW. A garden tick. (Martin McGill).

WWT Slimbridge    On South Lake this morning, a first-winter Bar-tailed Godwit, the French colour-ringed Black-tailed Godwit and a Polish colour-ringed Black-headed Gull. (John Sanders). A GARGANEY still with Teal from Zeiss hide.  (Slimbridge Sightings). Also today a Jack Snipe, eight Common Cranes, three White-fronted Geese, 70+ Dunlins and a Peregrine caught a Teal on Tack Piece before being pushed off its kill by a Buzzard which then flew across the Martin Smith hide with the Teal in its talons. Maisemore     Along Church Road from the pool to the weir on the Severn late afternoon birds included a Kingfisher, 13 Moorhens, a Coot, a Little Grebe, two Cormorants, two Great Spotted Woodpeckers, two Chaffinches, 17 Jackdaws, nine Mallards and two Mute Swans. (John Fletcher).

On Pit 111b two Little Egrets, two Great Crested Grebes, seven Cormorants, a Goldcrest, a Sparrowhawk, a Great Spotted Woodpecker and 64 Lapwings over. On Pit 126 six Egyptian Geese, 80 Coots, 180 Tufted Ducks, seven Pochards, five Red Crested Pochards, seven Teal, eight Great Crested Grebes, two Grey Herons, 15 Redwings over, a Red Kite, a Kestrel and a Buzzard. Tresham     This morning a MERLIN standing in the field between Hatherall’s barn and the A46 at ST805906, also three Lapwings. (Vic Polley).
