Three Little Ringed Plovers on the Tack Piece and later the Estuary Tower scrape and two White Wagtails at the latter. Nailsworth    Belated news for yesterday a female HEN HARRIER flew out of Hazel Woods and across towards Stroud. (Megan Adamou). 60+ Siskins on feeders, and singing in nearby trees, then 40 flew off N. (Terry Grant).

Maisemore     This afternoon from Church Road, Court Lake and over a mile above the weir birds included ten Linnets, six Chiffchaffs, five Chaffinches, three Song Thrushes, two Long-tailed Tits, two Green Woodpeckers, a Kingfisher, four Tufted Ducks, five Moorhens,
27 Mallards, six Canada Geese, two Grey Heron, a Cormorant, seven Mute Swans, two Ravens, four Buzzards and 21 Jackdaws. (John Fletcher).

Longney     Two Common Cranes flew NE over the river this morning. (Sarah Batt).

Saul Warth     This afternoon on the Warth six Gadwalls, seven Mallards, 12 Shelducks, ten Coots, two pairs of Mute Swans and two Grey Herons. Also 93 Curlews, five Mandarins, two Skylarks, a Meadow Pipit, a Redwing, five Chiffchaffs, three Linnets and a Red Kite flew E. (MK).

Coombe Hill Meadows    Four Mute Swans, three Canada Geese, two Shelducks, 40+ Wigeon, three Gadwall, c100 Teal, 20 Mallards, 40 Pintails, 35 Shovelers, 50+ Tufted Ducks, two Great Crested Grebes, at least three Little Grebes, 20 Coots, five Little Egrets, four Buzzards, two Oystercatchers, 9+ Lapwings, 9+ Curlews, a Redshank, at least five singing Skylarks, at least eight singing Chiffchaffs and three singing Reed Buntings. Cobney Meadows     Five Mute Swans, 20 Teal, 37 Shelducks, two Oystercatchers, nine Curlews and two Chiffchaffs singing today. (Mike Smart).

Ashleworth Ham     Ten Canada Geese, 15 Wigeon, 20 Teal, 12 Mallards, four Pintails, four Tufted Ducks, two Coots and two Chiffchaffs singing. (Mike Smart).

Stonehouse     In the Bond’s Mill area a Cetti’s Warbler calling briefly, a pair of Bullfinches on scrub below Hoffman’s Dam, four Chiffchaffs, four Jays, a Grey Heron and seven singing Wrens. (Paul Sutton).

Nailsworth     Amongst the birds visiting the garden feeders today included a male and female Brambling, 40+ Siskins, 25+ Goldfinches and eight Greenfinches. (Terry Grant).

WWT Slimbridge     The drake GREEN-WINGED TEAL on the Tack Piece for much of the day, best viewed from Estuary Tower. Also a Knot amongst 400+ Black-tailed Godwits, including a colour ringed bird, two Avocets, a Bewick’s Swan and the Ross’s Goose. A passage of 38+ Sand Martins through this morning and a Wheatear reported on the Dumbles. Two WHOOPER SWANS on the Rushy. At least two adult Mediterranean Gulls on South Lake. (Martin McGill et al). Also a Cattle Egret in the rushes. (Richard & Becky Lansdown).

WWT Slimbridge     A drake GREEN-WINGED TEAL on the Tack Piece early afternoon. (per Dot Jones). An adult Mediterranean Gull and 12 Cattle Egrets on South Lake this morning. (Andy Chapman). Male and female Kingfishers showing well all day from the Kingfisher hide. Also a Kestrel. From Zeiss hide 30+ Avocets, two Snipe and three Little Egrets. On South Lake a male Goldeneye and two Oystercatchers. (Jacob Jenkins).

Stroud    32 WAXWINGS at the railway station at 5:20pm, feeding on mistletoe for a couple of minutes and then flew off S towards the canal. (Francis Steuck).

Newnham-on-Severn     Six WAXWINGS this morning. (David Smith).

Berkeley shore     A male WHEATEAR today, first of the year. (Kenny Hills).

Coombe Hill Meadows     Two Cattle Egrets distant from Grundon hide this morning. (Jeremy Holland).

Ashleworth Ham     This afternoon a female Marsh Harrier. Good numbers of Teal, Wigeon, Shovelers and Pintails spread over the floodwater. Also 23 Tufted Ducks, a Peregrine and an Oystercatcher. (Richard Humphrey).

Owlpen    Along the Uley valley from Owlpen this morning a Little Grebe, two Grey Herons, a Water Rail, six Coots, 22 Moorhens, two Kestrels mating, a pair of Mandarins, four Buzzards, a Red Kite, 16 Canada Geese, 32 Mallards and a Muntjac. (Tim Thompson).

Aylburton Common     A MERLIN in the garden today. Also a singing Blackcap and a singing Chiffchaff this morning. (Martin Vaisey).

Frampton pools     42 Chiffchaffs, two Blackcaps, three Redwings, four Reed Buntings, 14 Skylarks, three Meadow Pipits, 60+ Linnets, 14 Song Thrushes, eight Great Spotted Woodpeckers, two Ravens, two Siskins, 44 Stock Doves, six Cetti’s Warblers, 103 Barnacle Geese, 23 Greylags, six Canada Geese, two Herring Gulls, a Common Gull and 100+Black-headed Gulls today. Elmore Court     In the rewilding area today, a JACK SNIPE with two Snipe, a Curlew, two Stonechats, three Reed Buntings, a Little Egret, a Cetti’s Warbler, eight Chiffchaffs, a pair of Gadwalls, new for the site and two Red Kites. Also two Muntjacs, two Roe Deer and a Fox. (Steve Pullen).

Leckhampton Hill     130+ Golden Plovers, a drumming Great Spotted Woodpecker and a Coal Tit. (Eric Harris).

Stinchcombe Hill    Five Chiffchaffs singing this morning. A Crossbill heading S and a male Siskin on feeders. 43 Common Gulls on the golf course. (James Robinson).

Gloucester    At Sandhurst brick-pits and meadows four Mute Swans, two Shelducks, 30 Mallards, c15 Grey Herons, eight Little Egrets, a Red Kite, two Buzzards, three drumming Great Spotted Woodpeckers, 100 Fieldfares, a Cetti’s Warbler, at least five singing Chiffchaffs, a Raven, two Bullfinches and a singing Reed Bunting. Nailsworth     Garden feeders visited today by 40+ Siskins, 40+ Goldfinches, 25+ Chaffinches, 12 Greenfinches and a male Bullfinch. (Terry Grant).

Winchcombe     This morning on the garden feeders three Siskins (1m, 2f) with three Goldfinches. (Gill Worthington).

Cheltenham    A garden Chiffchaff in in Benhall, a Chiffchaff heard in Benhall Woods and a Red Kite low over Benhall Park. (David Norman).
