WWT Slimbridge     A BITTERN high over Top New Piece heading N at 11:13am, a Barn Owl from Kingfisher hide and a Marsh Harrier over the Dumbles. (Julian Gould/Molly Gould).

Ashleworth Ham     A male Pied Flycatcher reported between Hasfield and Ashleworth today. (per Paul Sutton).

Saul Warth     Early morning, no tide, fogged out until 8:30am, 21 Shelducks, a Whimbrel, nine Curlews, eight Oystercatchers, a Little Egret, four Swallows, three Whitethroats, a Reed Warbler, four Skylarks, a Grey Wagtail and two Reed Buntings. (MK).

Highnam Woods     From the bench on the left hand path from the car park, a Nightingale singing briefly at 9am, a Lesser Whitethroat, a Garden Warbler, two Great Spotted Woodpeckers, a Green Woodpecker and a Raven over. Also two Muntjacs heard. (Steve Brown).

Elmore Court     In the rewilding area this morning, two Spotted Flycatchers on the edge of the treehouse wood, a female Cuckoo, five Red Kites and four Buzzards following a mower, also 8+ Painted Lady butterflies. (Steve Pullen).

Oxenton    11 Red Kites and a Buzzard over a field being mowed at 1:15pm. (MK).

Cleeve Hill     At the Bill Smyllie and mast reserves a Red Kite, two Ravens, a Redstart singing, two Buzzards, a family of Stonechats, Stock Doves, Chaffinches, Wrens, Robins, Blackcaps singing and Whitethroats heard. Butterflies included a Marsh Fritillary, Duke of Burgundy, Dingy and Grizzled Skippers, Common Blue, Brown Argus, Small Heath, Brimstone, Green-veined White and many Small Blues. Aylburton Common     A Goshawk flushed from woods this morning by two Crows. A male Greenfinch in the garden for a 3rd day and a pair of Bullfinches around the garden pond several times this week. (Martin Vaisey).

Kilkenny      At the Kilkenny viewpoint and picnic area this afternoon a Chiffchaff, a Blackcap, a Willow Warbler, a Song Thrush and a Yellowhammer. Good numbers of Small Heath, Small Blue and Common Blue butterflies; also Grizzled Skipper, Comma, Meadow Brown and Large White and a Mother Shipton moth. Forest of Dean     5+ Painted Lady butterflies in a Forge Hill garden, Lydbrook today. (Chris Sullivan).
