(Ian Hull). This afternoon male and female GARGANEY showing well from Grundon Hide, also two male Yellow Wagtails. (Duncan Dine). This evening a BITTERN flew from the Long Pool past the Grundon hide. Nailsworth     At Ruskin Mill ponds two pairs of Little Grebes, two Grey Herons, a juvenile Mute Swan, a female Grey Wagtail, five Moorhens, four Coots, five Mallards, two drake Tufted Ducks, two Pheasants including a Japanese male, three Buzzards, two Blackcaps, three Chiffchaffs, two Nuthatches, a Coal Tit and a Song Thrush. WWT Slimbridge     Early morning from the Estuary Tower five SANDWICH TERNS resting on the sand banks but flew off NE. (Slimbridge Sightings). A SANDWICH TERN flew N past Tites Point at 1:48pm viewed from the Estuary Tower, then flew back S. A Sedge Warbler singing near the Otter Pen. (Mark Hobson).

Saul Warth     At 11:40am a SANDWICH TERN flew over the Warth and appeared to drop on the river. (Gordon Hodgson). This morning three House Martins, ten Swallows, 36 Sand Martins, a Yellow Wagtail, 10+ Meadow Pipits, a Willow Warbler, a Chiffchaff, a Whimbrel, 20 Dunlins, 12 Ringed Plovers, a Redshank, an Oystercatcher and 20+ Curlews. This evening a juvenile LITTLE GULL flew upriver, 32 Dunlins, ten Ringed Plovers, five Grey Plovers, two Bar-tailed Godwits, 50 Curlews, four Oystercatchers, a Little Stint, a Whimbrel and a Red Kite. Frampton    29 SANDWICH TERNS came off the river at Splatt Bridge at 6:10pm and headed towards the pools, then flew back downriver. (Rich Hearn). From Splatt Bridge this morning a male Redstart through, a Sedge Warbler singing, a juvenile LITTLE GULL over twice and two adult LITTLE GULLS flew high N, four Yellow Wagtails and five more over, a White Wagtail on the reedbed pool and a Whimbrel. (Gordon Hodgson). At the pools two LITTLE GULLS, a first summer Mediterranean Gull, 300+ Sand Martins, 20+Swallows, a House Martin, two Willow Warblers, a Cattle Egret and 48 Curlews. Cleeve Hill     Three RING OUZELS still this morning. Also eight Wheatears including a Greenland type male and a Willow Warbler. (Richard Tyler).

Bourton-on-the-Water     At Bourton pits an OSPREY through, two pairs of Shovelers, a pair of Oystercatchers, a Barnacle Goose on south pit and Swallows, Sand Martins and House Martins. (Keith Jennings).

Hasfield Ham     Five Redstarts at least (4 males) in the Stank Lane area today. (Daniel Gornall). Also three Curlews (two of them colour-ringed) and at least three singing Willow Warblers. (Mike Smart).

Coombe Hill Meadows    This morning two Mute Swans, 38 Greylags, 20 Canada Geese, two Shelducks, two Wigeon, five Gadwalls, 30 Teal, 25 Mallards including a female with six tiny ducklings, four Shovelers, two Cormorants, a Buzzard, eight Coots, two Oystercatchers, two Little Ringed Plovers, ten Lapwings, two Curlews, four Redshanks, a Green Sandpiper, a Redstart singing, at least five Chiffchaffs singing and at least two Reed Buntings. Selsley Common     Early morning a male and female RING OUZEL in the trees below the north bank of Common, church side. No further sign by 10am. Also a Wheatear along the slopes. (Colin Greenfield).

Purton     A SANDWICH TERN feeding on the river just S of the wrecks then went N upriver at 4pm, also a Little Ringed Plover. A second SANDWICH TERN flew past N at 4:54pm and eight more WHIMBRELS. Saul Warth     Two SANDWICH TERNS off of the Warth at 5pm then flew high N. Also this evening also a Red Kite, eight Ringed Plovers, seven Dunlins, a Little Stint, two Whimbrels, 40 Curlews, two Oystercatchers, three Swallows and a 3rd summer Mediterranean Gull. Leighterton     A male Yellow Wagtail and a male Yellowhammer on a ploughed field half a mile E of Bennet’s Farm this morning. Also four Corn Buntings with them, 70 Linnets on the opposite side of the road on a harrowed field and more buntings. Four Swallows passed N over Lasborough and three Red Kites. (Geoff Moyser).

Ashleworth Ham    Early morning two Curlews roosting, at least five Snipe flew out early and seven flushed later in the morning, two Wigeon and only Chiffchaffs singing. (Mike Smart). A colour ringed Great White Egret (white ‘AAR’ on red) late afternoon. This bird was ringed as a chick on the Somerset levels. (Gus Ariss).

Stonehouse     At Stanley Downton a Raven seeing off a Buzzard and c20 House Martins at the sewage works. At least six calling Chiffchaffs. At Bridgend a pair of Buzzards and a pair of Sparrowhawks circling high above the garden this afternoon. A Buzzard pair, very high, back north to south late afternoon. Two Red Kites reported over Doverow hill between 11am and 3pm per Nigel Lusty. (Paul Sutton).
