Forest of Dean     At Nagshead this morning a LESSER SPOTTED WOODPECKER heard only, a female Goshawk, a male and female Sparrowhawk, two Crossbills, a Blackcap singing, a Marsh Tit, 30+ Siskins, two Lesser Redpolls and six Fallow Deer. At Parkend two Hawfinches and 12 Bramblings. At Cannop ponds a female Goosander, six Tufted Ducks, 18 Mandarins, two Coal Tits and two Siskins. (Stephen Curtis & Carol Rushton).

Leckhampton Hill     Songsters on the lower slopes included a Chiffchaff, a Treecreeper, a Marsh Tit and three over-wintering Blackcap in subsong. (Chris Furley).

Cotswold Water Park East     At Whelford pools this afternoon two Mute Swans, four Goosanders (2m, 2f), 13 Gadwalls, 24 Shovelers, 19 Tufted Ducks, five Teal, 11 Coots, five Mallards, three Moorhens, two Great Crested Grebes, 25 Cormorants, 41 Black-headed Gulls, three Grey Herons, a female Kingfisher, a female Reed Bunting, two Greenfinches, two Great Spotted Woodpeckers, six Chaffinches, eight Dunnocks, three Long-tailed Tits and two Cetti’s Warblers. Also a male Muntjac ran off from outside the hide. Coombe Hill Meadows     This evening five Canada Geese, 550 Wigeon, five Gadwalls, 500 Teal, 30 Mallards, 230+ Pintails, 19 Shovelers, seven Tufted Ducks, a Pochard, a Great Crested Grebe, a Little Grebe, a Cormorant, a Great White Egret, a Little Egret, 15 Coots, two Oystercatchers,40 Lapwings, ten Black-tailed Godwits, two Redshanks, hundreds of gulls, Black-headed, Lesser Black-backed and Herring, with a few Common, landing on the water, but mostly moving on to the estuary after a wash and brush up, a Pied Wagtail and two Carrion Crows today. Cheltenham     At Naunton Park, a Brambling, second garden record in 38 years, c12 Siskins around back gardens and the Cheltenham Junior College grounds and a Blackcap and Mistle Thrush both singing. (Kim & Steve Brown).

Hucclecote    This morning a male Sparrowhawk in the garden and this afternoon a Herring Gull landed in the garden and ate birdseed from the ground feeder. (Harold Smith).
