Coombe Hill Meadows     From Grundon hide today nine Mute Swans, 120+ Greylags, 78 Canada Geese, a Barnacle Goose, 102 Wigeon, 18 Shovelers, 156 Teal, 20 Mallards, two Coots, two Grey Herons, a Little Egret, a Buzzard, eight Lapwings, 5+ Meadow Pipits, five Redwings, a Mistle Thrush, a pair of Stonechats, 2 or 3 Reed Buntings and 5+ Skylarks. Stinchcombe Hill    A Crossbill and several Redpolls heading W this afternoon. Bramblings now across the site feeding on Whitebeam and Spindle berries with Greenfinches and Bullfinches. Plenty of Blackbirds and Redwings too. (James Robinson).

Coombe Hill Meadows     Two Mute Swans, 435 Greylags, four Canada Geese, 32 Wigeon, 32 Teal, 40 Mallards, six Shovelers, four Grey Herons, four Lapwings, five Skylarks, at least three Stonechats, a Mistle Thrush, a Blackcap in subsong, a Chiffchaff and 2 or 3 Reed Buntings. (Mike Smart).

WWT Slimbridge highlights during this period included a showy BITTERN, the long-staying Spoonbill, two Cattle Egrets, two Great White Egrets, a Whooper Swan, three White-fronted Geese, four Egyptian Geese, a Marsh Harrier, three Spotted Redshanks and the usual autumn build up of waders and wildfowl. On the 17th an adult Common Gull ring number JC844, age at least 4 years, ringed on 3 June 2018 at Store Revlingen, Rygge, Ostfold, Norway. (Andy Gibbons)

Stonehouse on the 20th a Short-eared Owl in flight quite high over the roundabout at M5/J13 at 5:15pm being mobbed by several corvids. (Michael Cook).

Bussage on the 20th two Crossbills in the top of a Sycamore, a garden first and two Noctule Bats feeding at dusk near adjacent woodland. (Michael Cook).
