Forest of Dean     At Wenchford a Garden Warbler, a Jay, a pair of Grey Wagtails feeding young, a pair of Long-tailed Tits, Chiffchaffs, Willow Warblers, Blackcaps, a Goldcrest and Song Thrushes. In the Cannop Ponds area a pair of Bullfinches, a pair of Willow Warblers, a Whitethroat, Blackcaps, Chiffchaffs, a pair of Pied Wagtails, Ravens, Buzzards, Song Thrushes, Stock Doves and a pair of Mistle Thrushes. WWT Slimbridge     A GRASSHOPPER WARBLER still today at Mid Point at 9am, a Hobby flew N there at 10:45am and a Cuckoo calling by the 50-Acre. (Geoff Moyser). On the Rushy at noon two Bar-tailed Godwits, two Oystercatchers, two Barnacle Geese and the hybrid male Wigeon with a female. Also two Cranes for a while at last year’s nesting site. From Mid Point, early afternoon, at least six Wheatears, three and later two Oystercatchers flying upriver and a fly-over Little Egret. (Andy & Sue Gibbons).

Ashleworth Ham     29 birds trapped today on a Constant Effort ringing session including nine Sedge Warblers, four Whitethroats, two Lesser Whitethroats, a Willow Warbler, a Redstart, two Reed Buntings and a Bullfinch. Around the reserve, a Teal, a Pintail and a Wigeon, a Shelduck, a Oystercatcher, two Lapwings, a Little Ringed Plover and two Curlews. (Mike Smart/Mervyn Greening).
