Fretherne     On the River Severn on a falling tide at lunchtime five Whimbrel, a Curlew, three Grey Plovers, 12 Dunlins, a Common Sandpiper and three Wheatears. (Jon Mercer).

Hawling     In and around the pheasant pens, a Cuckoo heard calling for the past three days, two Canada Geese, a singing Blackcap and a Lesser Whitethroat, a pair of Yellowhammers, four Linnets, three Swallows, two Red Kites, a Kestrel and a Wren seen collecting moss. (Rupert Dennis).

May Hill     Three Crossbills (2m, 1f) feeding in the hill top pine trees, three displaying Tree Pipits, two Stonechats (1m, 1f), three Redstarts male and female seen and another male heard singing nearby, 20+ Linnets, 20+ Meadow Pipits, six Mistle Thrushes and two Ravens. (Steve Pullen).

Highnam Wood     Three singing Nightingales from the hide at 3pm, two Blackcaps (1m, 1f), two Jays, two Song Thrushes collecting mud from the pool side, a Great Spotted Woodpecker and a buck Muntjac having a drink. (Steve Pullen).

Frampton     On the flashes N of Splatt Bridge two LITTLE GULLS, a Little Ringed Plover, a White Wagtail, 5+ Wheatears, Dunlin and Redshank today. (Paul Rich). Frampton     A GREAT WHITE EGRET over the village at 6:30am. (Nick Goatman). At Court Lake seven CATTLE EGRETS this morning and four Common Sandpipers on the Sailing Lake. (Tanya Allen/Andy Chapman). At 1:50pm the immature LITTLE GULL on the Sailing Lake, a Lesser Whitethroat in the Gravel Wash and three House Martins. (MK). The SPOONBILL and a summer plumaged Spotted Redshank on the flashes at 11am and the female/immature Marsh Harrier quartering the 100-Acre again this morning viewable from the towpath. Symonds Yat     From Yat Rock viewpoint the Peregrine pair, five Buzzards, a Goshawk, two Red Kites, three Sparrowhawks flying together, Ravens, a Green Woodpecker, two Pied Wagtails, a pair of Goosanders, a pair of Bullfinches, Stock Doves, a Kingfisher, a Chiffchaff, a Blackcap, House Martins, a Swallow, Long-tailed Tits and a Marsh Tit. Other sightings included Speckled Wood, Red Admiral and Holly Blue butterflies, St Mark’s Flies, Green Longhorn Moths, a Vapourer moth, a Hummingbird Hawkmoth, a Wood Mouse and four Fallow Deer. Frampton     Between 7:30-9:30 this morning on the flashes N of Splatt Bridge (view only from the towpath) an immature LITTLE GULL, six CATTLE EGRETS briefly, two Greenshanks, a summer plumaged Spotted Redshank, three Redshanks and two Lapwings. A female/immature Marsh Harrier quartering the 100-Acre and a Cuckoo S of Splatt Bridge with two Reed Warblers and a Cetti’s Warbler in the southern reedbed. (MK). At the pools this evening a Nightingale, a Cuckoo, a Redshank, six Yellow Wagtails, two Lesser Whitethroats, two Whitethroats, four Reed Warblers, a Sedge Warbler, 30 Chiffchaffs, 26 Blackcaps and two Pochards. (Nick Goatman).

WWT Slimbridge     Six BLACK-WINGED STILTS found on the Rushy this morning, then moving around the grounds with four settled at Zeiss hide and two on South Lake at 4:40pm. (John Bescoby). The second County record following a pair at WWT/Saul Warth 12th-15th May 2005. Also a male Marsh Harrier through the reserve at 8:10am. (Slimbridge Sightings).

Cotswold Water Park West     At 1:40pm an OSPREY heading NE low over Pit 16. Also a Nightingale singing between Pits 16 and 17. (Tim McGrath).

Frampton     A Short-eared Owl quartering the marshes from Splatt Bridge at 7:35pm. (Gordon Kirk).

Hardwicke     Between Sellars and Parkend Bridges early morning two Lesser Whitethroats, two Whitethroats, six Chiffchaffs, four Blackcaps and a Sedge Warbler. (Paul Masters).

Forest of Dean     A Red Kite over Station Way, Coleford at 2pm. (Frank Williams). This afternoon from Lower Hide at Nagshead a male Redstart, a Treecreeper and a Buzzard eating a kill.  Also a drake Mandarin on the pond near the Visitor Centre. Also today a male Pied Flycatcher, a Chiffchaff, a Willow Warbler and two Blackcaps. (Andy & Sue Gibbons/Chris & Phil Andrews). At Cannop N pond at least four Mandarins (3m, 1f), a Little Grebe, a pair of Tufted Ducks, a pair of Mute Swans, several Mallard pairs and a few Coots. (Andy & Sue Gibbons).

Symonds Yat     At Yat Rock the resident Peregrines and an intruding male Peregrine, Ravens, a Sparrowhawk, a male Mandarin, a Green Woodpecker, a Kingfisher, a Great Spotted Woodpecker, a Red Kite, a Jay, Stock Doves, Holly Blues and a Red Admiral and St Mark’s flies. (Chris & Phil Andrews).

Stonehouse     A Red Kite flew over Stonehouse this afternoon at 4:15pm heading W. (Jon Dexter).

Coombe Hill Meadows     From the Grundon Hide at lunchtime today a female Wheatear by the bridge over the ditch, a male Yellow Wagtail with two Pied Wagtails, two Redshanks, a Curlew, a few Lapwings, a Buzzard and a few Shelduck. Along the canal singing Sedge Warblers, Willow Warblers, Chiffchaffs, Blackcaps, three Swallows, a Reed Bunting, a Great Spotted Woodpecker and a Grey Heron. Butterflies included Orange Tip, Brimstone, Small Tortoiseshell, Peacock, Green-veined White and Holly Blue. Tewkesbury     At Severn Ham today four Curlews and at least four singing Sedge Warblers.  At Mythe brickpits three Sedge Warblers. At Mythe Brook two Curlews, two Oystercatchers, a Little Egret, at least two more Sedge Warblers and a Whitethroat singing. (Mike Smart).
