Coombe Hill Meadows     This morning six Mute Swans, two adults and four cygnets, a juvenile Shelduck, three Grey Herons, two Little Egrets, a Water Rail seen, two Coots with four young, two Oystercatchers, a juvenile Lapwing, an adult and a juvenile Little Ringed Plover, a Bar-tailed Godwit, a Greenshank, a Redshank with a chick, 78 Jackdaws, a Yellowhammer and a Brown Hare. Ashleworth Ham     An eclipse male Wigeon, three Grey Herons, three Coots, a Cormorant, a Buzzard, two Oystercatchers and a Green Sandpiper. (Les Brown).

Frampton     A juvenile Cuckoo still by the Sailing Club early morning and a Yellow Wagtail feeding two fledged young. This evening a Hobby, 60+ Swifts, 30+ House Martins, 20+ Sand Martins an six Common Terns. (Nick Goatman).

Slimbridge     At 9:30am in the field opposite the primary school, a flock of 48 Curlews feeding with three Whimbrels. (Alan Baxter).

WWT Slimbridge     A WOOD SANDPIPER still on South Lake this afternoon. Also four Little Ringed Plovers. (MK).

Eastleach Martin     Four QUAILS calling persistently along Locombe Hill N of Eastleach Martin from 8:45am till 10:45am spaced at 50m intervals from the gateways N along the road favouring the wildlife fringe. Also a Hobby chasing Linnets, a Buzzard and a pair of Corn Buntings plus another singing. (Steve Brown).

Tirley Sandpits     Two Blackcaps, 8+ Skylarks, 10+ Chiffchaffs, six Stock Doves, a Green Woodpecker, seven Whitethroats, two Great Spotted Woodpeckers, 36+ Swallows, eight Swifts, a Hobby, 23+ House Martins, two Yellow Wagtails, a Redstart still, four Ravens, a Grey Heron, a Lesser Whitethroat and two Willow Warblers today. Berkeley shore     Two adult Yellow-legged Gulls, 17 Common Sandpipers and 11 Sand Martins flew S. (Paul Taylor).

Forest of Dean     At Nagshead Song Thrushes, a Blackcap, a Bullfinch, young Nuthatches and Ringlet butterflies. (Chris & Phil Andrews).

Symonds Yat     From the viewpoint, the Peregrine pair and the juvenile male, a pair of Common Sandpipers, a Kingfisher, Ravens, Buzzards, a Bullfinch calling, two Jays, Long-tailed Tits and Swifts, Swallows and House Martins. Other sightings included three Fallow Deer and a fawn, two Hornets, two Holly Blue and many Ringlet butterflies. (Chris & Phil Andrews).

Tirley Sandpits     Six Chiffchaffs, six Stock Doves, three Blackcaps, a Lesser Whitethroat, 8+ Whitethroats, 6+ House Martins, 17+ Swallows, 2+ Yellow Wagtails, 7+ Skylarks, a Redstart, 24+ Swifts, a Sedge Warbler (only the 2nd patch record in 15 years), a Red-legged Partridge, two Bullfinches, two Great Spotted Woodpecker, a Green Woodpecker and two Yellowhammers. (Mark Grieve).

Bricklehampton     Three Green Woodpeckers, an adult and two juveniles, in the garden today. (Chris Snook).

Coombe Hill Meadows     Two Mute Swans with four cygnets, a juvenile Shelduck, three female Mallards with families of four, five and six ducklings, two Little Egrets, a Grey Heron, three pairs of Coot with four, one and one chick, three Little Ringed Plovers (two adults, one immature) and an adult Redshank with at least one chick on the island. Eastleach Martin     Two QUAIL calling close to the road on Locombe Hill N of Eastleach Martin in a wheat field early morning. Both seen in flight occasionally. Also 1+ Corn Bunting and a Red Kite. (MK).

WWT Slimbridge     A very ragged female MARSH HARRIER flew past Mid Point over the Turkey Oaks towards the 100-Acre at noon. Also an adult Yellow-legged Gull on the Dumbles edge at high tide. Gloucester     At Gloucester Quays 15+ House Martins today. At Maisemore 10+ House Martins. (Mark Grieve).

Tirley     A garden Green Woodpecker, also in the Tirley area, 10+ Swallows, two Chiffchaffs, two Blackcaps, 10+ House Martins, two Lesser Whitethroats, three Whitethroats, two Yellow Wagtails, two Skylarks, a male and a female Redstart in the field hedgerow.
