Tirley Sandpits     A female Pied Flycatcher, a patch Mega, an adult Spotted Flycatcher feeding a juvenile, male and female Yellow Wagtail, 11+Swallows, eight Stock Doves, a Bullfinch, three Great Spotted Woodpeckers, seven House Martins, a Little Egret over, a Green Woodpecker, three Lesser Whitethroats, 11 Whitethroats, a Red-legged Partridge, nine Blackcaps, eight Chiffchaffs and two Foxes. (Mark Grieve).

Symonds Yat    From the viewpoint today the Peregrine pair with their juvenile, a female Goshawk, a Kestrel, four Buzzards, Ravens, a Jay, a Kingfisher, a Pied Wagtail, a Chiffchaff, a pair of Stock Doves, a male Bullfinch and Swifts, House Martins and Swallows. Also two Hornets, two Rose Chafers and three Fallow Deer. (Chris & Phil Andrews).

Coombe Hill Meadows     Two Mute Swans with four cygnets, a Greylag, five juvenile Shelducks, 23  Mallards and a female with four ducklings, two Tufted Ducks, two Grey Herons, three Little Egrets, two Coots with four juveniles on S scrape. Two adult and two young Oystercatchers, nine Lapwings including two juveniles, a Cuckoo heard, c50 Swallows, c50 Sand Martins and c20 Swifts hawking over the scrapes. (Les Brown).

Ashleworth Ham     A male Wigeon. 15 Mallards, a Grey Heron, a Little Egret and two Coots. Two Curlews heard on Hasfield Ham. (Les Brown).

Upham Meadow, Twyning    40 Canada Geese (including two broods of goslings), a Greylag , two Oystercatchers, at least 8 Curlews, at least two Reed Warblers, at least two Sedge Warblers and at least five Reed Buntings. (Mike Smart).

Coombe Hill Meadows     A pair of Mute Swans with four cygnets, five juvenile Shelducks, a Wigeon, 100 Mallards, five Tufted Ducks, two Little Egrets, four Curlews, three Oystercatchers, 4/5 Lapwings, an adult Redshank, a Green Sandpiper, a Cuckoo and a Cetti’s Warbler. (Mike Smart).

WWT Slimbridge     An eclipse drake GARGANEY from Zeiss hide still, and around the site at least ten Green Sandpipers, a Ruff and a Common Sandpiper. (@slimbridge_wild).

Forest of Dean     At Blakeney, a Dipper today at 3pm on the brook adjacent to the playing field. (John Lewis).

Sandhurst     A Little Owl perched on a farm roof at 4:30pm. (Martin Greenish).

Tewkesbury    At Severn Ham a Grey Heron, an Oystercatcher over, a Curlew, 20 Black-headed Gulls, 75 Woodpigeons, ten Swifts, 50 House Martins, a Sand Martin, at least five Skylarks and at least four Reed Buntings. At Breakingstone Meadow two Mute Swans and a Whitethroat. On the Avon Meadows between Tewkesbury and Twyning (Gloucestershire bank a Reed Warbler, 3 or 4 Sedge Warblers and an adult carrying food and 4-5 Reed Buntings. Coombe Hill Meadows    13 Mute Swans including two pairs with 4 and 2 cygnets, two juvenile Shelducks, a drake Wigeon, four Teal, 170 Mallards, a pair of Tufted Ducks, three Little Egrets, five Grey Herons, three Cormorants over, a pair of Coots with four chicks and at least two pairs on the towpath with full grown young, a Redshank, 13 Lapwings, a Curlew, a Cuckoo still singing strongly, a Redstart, at least five Reed Warblers, two freshly hatched Sedge Warblers being fed right below the Grundon Hide and singing Whitethroat, Blackcap, Willow Warbler, Chiffchaff and Reed Bunting. Also two Roe Deer. Haw Bridge     Along the Severn N of Haw Bridge three adult Curlews in a hayfield and c5 Sand Martins at Malthouse Farm. (Andy Jayne/Mike Smart).

Tidenham Chase     No sign of any Nightjars by 10:45pm. Two Tawny Owls calling for at least 20 minutes. (Howard Lloyd & Thornbury U3A).

Forest of Dean      At Cannop Ponds five Siskins on feeders, also a Nuthatch and a Great Spotted Woodpecker nearby. At least five young Grey Wagtails on lower pond, also five on upper pond. Also on Upper pond eight Tufted Ducks and a Little Grebe. (Howard Lloyd & Thornbury U3A).

Frampton Pools     A MARSH HARRIER, a Hobby, two Yellow Wagtails, a Red Kite over the Sailing Lake, a Common Tern over Court Lake and two Oystercatchers. (Lee Gardiner).

Norton     A Little Owl on wires at 7:50pm. (Mark Grieve).

Forest of Dean    Three Hawfinches from the Campbell Hide today and a Marsh Tit and a Spotted Flycatcher at Lower Hide. (Morag Hughes).

Ashleworth Ham    A CES ringing session caught 76 birds, including four Redstarts (3 s, 1 ad), two male Grasshopper Warblers, seven Sedge Warblers, seven Whitethroats, eight Chiffchaffs, five Willow Warblers, six Goldfinches, two Linnets and six Reed Buntings. Two Lesser Whitethroats singing, not trapped. (Mervyn Greening/Mike Smart). Also a female Wigeon. (John Fletcher).

Forest of Dean     At Soudley Ponds a Jay, two Grey Wagtails, a Mandarin with eight ducklings and a male Blackcap. At Burnt Log Ringlets, Large Red, Azure and Common Blue Damselflies. At Nagshead pond Chiffchaffs and a Blackcap. Also Ringlets, a pair of Emperor dragonflies, with the female egg laying (pic by Phil), Black-tailed Skimmers and Broad-bodied Chasers, Large Red, Azure and Blue-tailed Damselflies. Frampton pools     A pair of Oystercatchers with two young today, first proven breeding at this site. (Nick Goatman).

Symonds Yat     At Yat Rock the juvenile Peregrine, the adult male brought in food and fed it, the female was on the left cliff all morning. Two Kingfishers and two Grey Wagtails very active by the river, also at the viewpoint confiding families of Coal Tits and Nuthatches and a Fallow Deer by the river. (Steve Brown).

Forest of Dean     A Dipper at Parkend downstream of the Fountain Inn, a Tree Pipit singing by the entrance track to Mallard’s Pike, a party of five Ravens and two Fallow Deer at Soudley Pools. (Steve Brown).

Cheltenham     A flypast Sparrowhawk mobbed by gulls at Cheltenham Railway Station and a female Sparrowhawk made an attempt at a male Blackbird in the garden. (Steve Brown).

Tirley     A male Yellow Wagtail today. (Mark Grieve).
