Frampton pools     Around the pools today two male Goldeneyes, five Cattle Egrets, six Little Egrets, 22 Teal, four Wigeon, two Pochards, 75 Gadwalls, 79 Shovelers, 28 Tufted Ducks, 32 Cormorants, 435 Coots, 30 Moorhens, 52 Mallards, seven Great Crested Grebes, four Little Grebes, five Lapwings sat on the ice on the sailing lake and 72 over. In the Pit 201b area, two Egyptian Geese, 230 Shovelers, 14 Gadwalls, 13 Pintails, 1250 Teal, 200+ Lapwings, a Great White Egret, a Red Kite, a Sparrowhawk, a Kestrel, four Chiffchaffs, six Blackcaps, two Stonechats, four Bullfinches and three Redpolls (Lesser). In the Lower Mill area, 122 Red Crested Pochards, all but five at Pit 44, six Goldeneyes, 35 Goosanders at Pit 41, six Little Grebes, two Little Egrets, a Marsh Harrier, five Chiffchaffs and a Blackcap. Between Shorncote and Pit 31, three Egyptian Geese flew over, 95 Pochards, ten Water Rails heard at dusk, eight Little Grebes, two Great White Egrets, five Little Egrets, 70 Lapwings, two Snipe, two Green Sandpipers, a Marsh Harrier, a Kestrel, eight Chiffchaffs, four Stonechats, four Bullfinches and five Reed Buntings. Also a huge Starling roost of up to 50,000 birds at Keynes Country Park, probably in the Pit 31 reed-bed. (Andy Jayne).

The drake RING-NECKED DUCK on Pit 31 this morning but flew off high S at 9:30am. 30+ Red Crested Pochards on Pit 44 including an aberrant female. A Great White Egret and nine Little Grebes on Pit 79. Constantly looked for throughout the day but not seen, heavy public holiday disturbance on site today. Also a drake Goldeneye, a Black Swan, four Chiffchaffs and two Blackcaps. At Court Lake this afternoon a Firecrest, 17 Cattle Egrets, two Great White Egrets, 32 Little Egrets and 500+ Starlings. (Nick Goatman).

Cherington     This afternoon a Kingfisher, a Little Grebe, two Cormorants, two Mallards, a Moorhen, a Buzzard, a Kestrel, a white Pheasant, a Grey Heron and two Green Woodpeckers. (John Fletcher).
