WWT Slimbridge    A BITTERN showing very well out from Van de Bovenkamp hide today. Also eight Pink-footed Geese still on Dumbles and on South Lake 165 Knot, 14 Ruff, 70+ Dunlins and 400+ Black-tailed Godwits. (Slimbridge Sightings).

Plusterwine     Between Plusterwine and Guscar Rocks at high tide, 500+ Carrion Crows, 200 Jackdaws, 14 Linnets, 70 Fieldfares, two Ravens, 60 Common Gulls, a Redshank, 60 Wigeon, 150 Woodpigeons and seven Stock Doves. (Iain Crawford).

Cherington     On the lake and in surrounding woodland this afternoon birds included three Little Grebes, two Mute Swans, four Buzzards, a Red Kite, two Goldcrests, a Grey Wagtail, a Nuthatch, four Redwings, two male Bullfinches, two Treecreeper and a Great Spotted Woodpecker. Also five Roe Deers. Gloucester     At Horsebere Flood Storage Lake this morning birds included two Mute Swans, two Mallards, a Grey Heron, a Cormorant, six Moorhens, a Coot, a Buzzard and two pairs of Stonechats. (Gord Avery).

WWT Slimbridge     Two BITTERNS today, one from the Zeiss hide and one from Van de Bovenkamp hide. From Kingfisher Hide on the Bottom New Piece 13 Bewick’s Swans, 37 White-fronted Geese and two juvenile Greenland White-fronted Geese. (Martin McGill).

Shab Hill     Between 12:15-1pm 522 Golden Plovers on plough. One of which was an almost a complete albino with a near all white head, breast and belly, pink base to the bill and all the flight feathers appeared chequered with white. Also 100 Common Gulls, eight Red-legged Partridges, four Skylarks and male and female Kestrel. Frampton     On the Sailing Lake at dawn a Goldeneye, two Pochards, a Yellow-legged Gull and a Great White Egret. (Nick Goatman).

Bishops Cleeve     A Raven over Woodmancote at 3:30pm today. (Dave Jeynes).

Witcombe Reservoirs     Late morning birds included 17 Greylags, 31 Mallards, four Teal, six Tufted Ducks, four Little Grebes, four Great Crested Grebes, 33 Coots, six Moorhens, five Cormorants and a Buzzard. (Gord Avery).

Churchdown     Two Little Owls calling this evening around 4:45pm near Chosen Hill. (Margaret G).

Cirencester     Two Ring-necked Parakeets in the central Tesco car park in Farrell Close today at 4:20pm. They flew in together and sat in a tree in the main car park area. (Niki Oakley).

Highnam Woods     This afternoon two Marsh Tits, three Nuthatches, six Goldcrests, two Coal Tits, two male Bullfinches, three Fieldfares, a Song Thrush, two Pied Wagtails, three Treecreepers, three Great Spotted Woodpeckers, a Green Woodpecker heard, three Jays, two Ravens, a Sparrowhawk and a Buzzard. On the Bottom New Piece 37 White-fronted Geese and two juvenile Greenland White-fronted Geese. From Zeiss hide a BITTERN today and eight Pink-footed Geese on the Dumbles. Maisemore     Along Church Road, from the lake to the weir, mid afternoon birds included two Little Grebes, two Mute Swans, a Chiffchaff, five Goldfinches, a Mistle Thrush, two Jays, a Great Spotted Woodpecker, a Green Woodpecker, a Buzzard, a female Kestrel, two Ravens and a Cormorant. Coombe Hill Meadows     Water is right up to the car park, so reserve is totally inaccessible from the canal towpath. Access from the northern Apperley side instead, 13 Mute Swans, 13 Greylags, 18 Canada Geese, 200 Wigeon, 150 Teal, 12 Mallards, eight Pintails, seven Shovelers, 56 Tufted Ducks, nine Pochards and two Coots. Saul     This afternoon two SHAGS N of Cadbury Bridge by the flour mill, presumably the original bird and a ringed juvenile with blue ring on left leg, white ring on right leg, presumably the bird seen by Martin McGill on November 8th.
