Tewkesbury     A Short-eared Owl flying above fields off Walton Cardiff Lane early this morning. A Cormorant also landed in same fields. A Curlew low over Tewkesbury Nature Reserve heading across the bypass towards Coombe Hill. (Pete Long).

Woodchester Park     Birds today included five Coal Tits, four Nuthatches, two Bullfinches, a Goldcrest, a male Sparrowhawk, a Great Spotted Woodpecker, a Stock Dove, a male Tawny Owl calling, three Marsh Tits, four Cormorants, four Little Grebes, 28 Mallards, nine Moorhens, two Coots, a Grey Heron, three Jays, two Buzzards, two Song Thrushes and 15 Meadow Pipits. Gloucester     On Castlemeads West floodwater this afternoon a minimum of 350 Teal, seven Shovelers (5m, 2f), two Coots and c20 Mallards. (Gord Avery).

Saul     A juvenile SHAG on the canal seen close to Cadbury Bridge at midday. (Marc Freebrey). Later seen at 4:30pm circling over the canal and marina and then headed S, possibly to Gardner’s pools. (Roberta Goodall). The SHAG has been roosting at the grain tower N of Cadbury Bridge daily. It’s there every morning, initially swimming then flying S between 7:45 to 8am. (Roy Widgery). Longney     At Longney Crib a Cattle Egret on the opposite bank in a field at SO759115 this afternoon. Also two Cormorants, two male Stonechats, six Mallards and 35 Fieldfares. In the old orchards two Little Owls in willows, three Redwings, 51 Fieldfares, a Chiffchaff, 12 House Sparrows, six Goldfinches, a Great Spotted Woodpecker, a Raven and a Buzzard. (John Fletcher).
