Then they disappeared for most of the day before being relocated in the same place early evening remaining until late evening but moving towards Saul. (Paul Marshall). From Splatt Bridge between 6:45am and 7:20am the GULL-BILLED TERN which flew along the grass on the foreshore and then appeared to land on the mud out of view at 7:07am. Also three Common Terns, a female Marsh Harrier, a Kingfisher and 340+ Swifts flying N. (Terry Grant). At the pools an Arctic Tern on the pontoon, six Common Terns, a Hobby, two Cuckoos, a Great Black-backed Gull, two Yellow Wagtails, a Yellowhammer, a Nuthatch feeding young, a flock of 25 Long-tailed Tits and 29 Stock Doves. WWT Slimbridge     A female RED-NECKED PHALAROPE at Mid Point from 9am until 3pm at least. (Scott Petrek). At 11am a GULL-BILLED TERN was off Mid Point later relocating to the ploughed field inside the sea wall until 11:50am when it flew off towards the Rushy, but not relocated. (Ian Hull). Also a Whimbrel, a Knot, two Grey Plovers, at least three Dunlins, five Turnstones all in summer plumage, c20 Ringed Plovers and a Yellow Wagtail at Mid Point. Coombe Hill Meadows     Three Sanderlings and a Turnstone today. Also 19 Ringed Plovers, seven Greenshanks and two Dunlins. Resident birds included a pair of Mute Swans, three Shelducks, two male Gadwalls and two male Shovelers, a Little Egret, a Grey Heron, a Oystercatcher, two Little Ringed Plovers, 6+Lapwings, 1+ Redshank, a Curlew and a Cuckoo. (Graham Smith/Mike Smart).
