Forest of Dean     In the Woorgreens/Crabtree Hill/Yew Tree Brake area a Hobby, three Tree Pipits, 10+ Willow Warblers, a Chiffchaff, five Siskins, a Lesser Redpoll heard, a male Reed Bunting and a Treecreeper. Also Broad-bodied Chasers, Four-spotted Chaser, Large Red and Common Blue Damselflies. (MK).

Rodborough Common     A WOOD WARBLER still singing continuously between 7:30am and 9am in woods close below Winstones ice cream shop. (Simon Gathercole).

WWT Slimbridge     The Common Crane pair have hatched at least one chick on South Lake today. Also a pair of Mediterranean Gulls here. (Slimbridge Sightings). A Bar-tailed Godwit, a drake Wigeon and at least two Avocet broods on the Top New Piece. (James Robinson).

Gloucester     At Horsbere Brook Flood Storage Lake this evening a Little Egret, a Kingfisher, a Reed Warbler, a Reed Bunting, two Swifts, two Grey Herons, a Little Grebe and a Skylark. (Geoff Fawcett).

Frampton     At the Sailing Lake early morning a Hobby being chased by a Common Tern and a Sedge Warbler by Court Lake. At lunchtime two Hobbies and four Common Terns at the Sailing Lake. (Nick Goatman).

Symonds Yat     From Yat Rock viewpoint today the resident Peregrines, a Red Kite, a Goshawk, a Sparrowhawk, four Buzzards, Ravens, a Green Woodpecker, Swifts, Swallows, House Martins and Sand Martins. Seven Springs     At least one BEE-EATER flew over calling at 7:30am at SO9716. It was heard only but not seen. (Terry Fenton).

Frampton     A female Marsh Harrier flew over Splatt Bridge towards the 100-Acre at 11am. Three Little Egrets on the flashes and an Oystercatcher over. Two Hobbies over the 100-Acre and another over Nebrow Hill. A male Cuckoo calling from the towpath S of Splatt Bridge and then flew towards Nebrow Hill, later it flew back to the 100-Acre. A Cetti’s Warbler at the reedbed S of Splatt Bridge. Also a Hairy Dragonfly and a Common Blue Damselfly. (MK). The pair of Oystercatchers on Court Lake have three young. (Tanya Allen).

Cambridge     A Hobby hunting near the Cambridge Arms bridge at 11:45am, two Common Terns and a Cetti’s Warbler just S of the bridge. Also S of the bridge a Beautiful Demoiselle and a Banded Demoiselle. (MK).

Ashleworth Ham     From Meerend Thicket hide two Shelducks, two Gadwalls, two Grey Herons, two Curlews, two Lapwings, 10+ Mallards and two Pied Wagtails. Along Stank Lane a Cuckoo, a Curlew, a pair of Bullfinches, Willow Warblers, a Sedge Warbler, Whitethroats and two Song Thrushes. Also Brimstone, Orange Tip, Speckled Wood, Peacock and Green-veined White butterflies and a few Large Red Damselflies. At Tirley Church a Cuckoo, a Whitethroat and a Great Spotted Woodpecker. During the evening additional birds included two Cuckoos, two Shelducks. two Oystercatchers, three Lapwings, ten Canada Geese, a Greylag, six Coots, two Swallows, a Great Spotted Woodpecker and four Blackcaps. WWT Slimbridge     A HOOPOE in the car park orchard early morning, the bird was flighty as cars arrived to park, and was last seen heading into the trees in the overflow car park. (Tanya Grigg). Four Sanderlings, 6-7 Dunlins and two Ringed Plovers at Middle Point over high tide and a Hobby across the Top New Piece at lunchtime.  Nearby at Cambridge Arms bridge on the canal, two Common Terns, a Whitethroat, a Lesser Whitethroat and a Kestrel. Frampton     A GREAT WHITE EGRET flew over heading the Bell Inn towards Court Lake at 12:45pm. Around the pools eight Common Terns, a Nightingale, a Cuckoo, a Hobby, three Yellow Wagtails, ten Whitethroats, 15 Reed Warblers, 19 Blackcaps, 12 Chiffchaffs, 50+ Swift and 12 Swallows. (Nick Goatman).
