Stinchcombe Hill     A female Redstart this afternoon and an Adonis Blue butterfly. (Phil Pope).

Gloucester     At Horsebere Brook Flood Storage Area this evening five Grey Herons, two adult and a juvenile Little Grebe, a Kestrel, a Hobby, 13 Swifts, a Kingfisher, three Whinchats and a Grey Wagtail. Frampton    At the pools this evening a GREAT WHITE EGRET on Court Lake, also four Little Egrets, a Water Rail, four Gadwalls and two Teal. This morning three Yellow Wagtails, a Yellow-legged Gull, 12 Common Terns, three Common Sandpipers, two Green Sandpipers, a Lesser Whitethroat, a Garden Warbler and a Whitethroat. (Nick Goatman).

Symonds Yat    From the viewpoint today the Peregrine pair and just one juvenile seen, six Buzzards, a female Sparrowhawk, a female Goshawk, Ravens, a Marsh Tit, a Treecreeper, a Great Spotted Woodpecker, a Green Woodpecker, Swallows and House Martins, Coal Tits, a Grey Heron, a Little Egret, a Goldcrest and Stock Doves. Other sightings included Red Admiral, Green-veined White, Small Copper, Gatekeeper, Common and Holly Blue butterflies, a Hornet, a Rose Chafer and many flying Ants. Forest of Dean     At St Briavels a pair of Siskins reappeared for last 3 days, after an absence of c6 weeks, on garden feeders but no sign of young. (Bob Broughton).

Cheltenham     This morning at Naunton Park, a Bullfinch, the first in the garden for 30 years, and an Emperor Dragonfly. Also a fly past Budgerigar (if anyone’s lost one). (Steve Brown).

Tewkesbury    A GREAT WHITE EGRET opposite the marina at 4:40pm and a pair of Egyptian Geese by the Sailing Club today. (Sarah Loaring).

Berkeley shore     A female-type COMMON SCOTER off of Severn House Farm again from 10:10am to 12:30pm at least. Also three Black-tailed Godwits, three Common Sandpipers, a singing Cetti’s Warbler and two juvenile Yellowhammers. (Paul Taylor).

Eastleach Downs     A QUAIL calling at 8am in the nettles at the start of the Bridle Path, SP206075. Also a juvenile Peregrine, two Red Kites, two Buzzards, two Kestrels, Yellowhammers and Whitethroats. (Steve Brown).

Gloucester     At Horsebere Brook Flood Storage Lake this morning birds included 30 Mallards, three Grey Herons, a Little Egret, two Mute Swans, a Cormorant, three Little Grebes (1 juv), 12 juvenile Goldfinches, two Swallows, two Chiffchaffs, a Willow Warbler and a juvenile Redstart. (Dave Stone).

Charlton Abbots     A Little Egret flew south towards Brockhampton this morning.

Forest of Dean     At Parkend a juvenile female Goshawk perched on the wooden bridge opposite the bike hire/cafe at 8:30am. (Steve Brown). At Nagshead a Willow Warbler, Blackcap and Goldfinch families feeding together on thistle seeds in the paddock nearest the visitor centre, also Bullfinches, Spotted Flycatchers, a Buzzard, Swallows and House Martins nearby. Other sightings included Speckled Wood, Gatekeeper, Common Blue and Meadow Brown butterflies, Southern Hawker Dragonflies, Emerald and Common Blue Damselflies, a Hornet and a mulberry Fallow Deer. Longney      Around the old orchard at SO754137 two Kestrels, three Buzzards, five Linnets, four Swallows, a Greenfinch and three Willow Warblers. A Marsh Harrier. at SO753134, a brief sighting, in the corner of the second downstream field. (John Fletcher).

May Hill     A family of five Stonechats and a Wheatear this morning on top of the hill. (Rob Guest).

Hempsted     A Lesser Whitethroat, 14 Whitethroats, two Willow Warblers, four Blackcaps, 5+ Chiffchaffs and a Swift at Netheridge Farm today. (Mark Hobson).

Dudbridge     20+ Swifts just flew over low heading south at 5pm. (Colin Greenfield).

Leckhampton     Two Goshawks (m & F) over Leckhampton Hill early morning, a patch tick. Also two Willow Warblers, six Bullfinches and a Raven. (Chris Furley).

Eastleach Martin    A QUAIL calling from an uncut crop field on Eastleach Downs (near Eastleach Martin) this afternoon. Also a Corn Bunting and a Red Kite in the same area. Closer to the village a juvenile/female Redstart and a Clouded Yellow butterfly. (Martine Fenn).

WWT Slimbridge    Two Wood Sandpipers still from Robbie Garnett hide today. Also 8+ Green Sandpipers here and on the Rushy, also six Black-tailed Godwits and two Ruff on the Rushy. A CATTLE EGRET from Hogarth hide late morning (in addition to South Lake waders including Dunlin, Ruff, Snipe, Redshank, Green Sandpiper and Black-tailed Godwit). A Red Kite over West Down car park and in the area Painted Lady, Common Blue, Red Admiral, Peacock, Gatekeeper, Meadow Brown, Small Heath and Green-veined White butterflies.  Along the gallops to the trig point a male Redstart, several Whitethroats and a Raven. At Wontley Farm a mixed flock of adult and juvenile Stonechats, Whitethroats and Willow Warblers. Bisley/Battlescombe valley     Early morning 17+ House Martins, 5+ Chiffchaffs, four Bullfinches, a Green Woodpecker, three Whitethroats, five Stock Doves, five Nuthatches, two Blackcaps, four Coal Tits, four Buzzards, two Great Spotted Woodpeckers, 8+ Swallows, two Marsh Tits, a Garden Warbler, a Spotted Flycatcher, a Goldcrest, a Kestrel, a Sparrowhawk and a Roe buck and a Brown Hare. Hawling area     Three Buzzards, three Red Kites, two Kestrels, a female Sparrowhawk, Linnets, Goldfinches, three male Yellowhammers, Swallows, House Martins, two Pied Wagtails and a Bullfinch. Other sightings included a Silver-washed Fritillary, many Common Blues, Meadow Brown, Small White and Peacock butterflies. Cotswold Water Park East     At Whelford pools GWT reserve at Pit 111 birds included four Great Crested Grebes (2 juv), three House Martins, four Tufted Ducks, two Red Crested Pochards, two Gadwalls, 45 Mallards, two Reed Buntings, three Cormorants, a Grey Heron, seven Willow Warblers, four Reed Warblers, a Goldcrest, two Sedge Warblers, five Long-tailed Tits and six Mute Swans (4 juv). At Pit 111a 14 Red Crested Pochards, three Great Crested Grebe (2 juv), nine Cormorants and eight Tufted Ducks. At Pit 126 31 Tufted Ducks, 29 Coots, eight Great Crested Grebes, and a Green Woodpecker. (John Fletcher).

Witcombe Reservoirs     25+ Swallows, three Cormorants, a Grey Wagtail, 54 Coots, two Little Grebes, two Pied Wagtails, nine Tufted Ducks, a Common Sandpiper, two Great Crested Grebes, 13+ Chiffchaffs, a Goldcrest, four House Martins, a singing Cetti’s Warbler, four Bullfinches and a Jay. Gloucester     At Horsebere Brook Flood Storage Lake today 30+ Mallards, four Coots (1 juvenile), six Moorhens (2 juveniles), two Mute Swans, three Grey Herons, a Cormorant, eight Swallows, two Swifts, two Little Grebes (ad & juv), a Green Sandpiper and a Whitethroat. (Joe Lewis). A Grey Wagtail feeding around the pond this morning in the garden at Park Avenue, Longlevens. (Pam & Frank Bryant).

Ashleworth Ham     Today’s CES ringing session caught 115 birds including 34 Whitethroats, two Blackcaps, two Sedge Warblers, two juvenile Grasshopper Warblers, 13 Chiffchaffs, 12 Willow Warblers, two adult Redstarts, 22 Reed Buntings and a Great Spotted Woodpecker, 18 species in all caught.
