Rodborough     At Rodborough Common this morning a Wood Warbler, four Lesser Whitethroats, two Redstarts, a Tree Pipit, two Yellow Wagtails and two Whitethroats S of the fort. Also a Swift and 20 Swallows flew S. (Francis Steuck).

Berkeley shore     A Yellow-legged Gull, two Redstarts and the first returning Whinchat. (Paul Taylor).

WWT Slimbridge     Three Common Terns, a Water Rail, four Garden Warblers, 50+ Chiffchaffs, 30+ Blackcaps, a Lesser Whitethroat, Yellow Wagtails and three Willow Warblers today. (Tom Weston-McClung).

Gloucester     At Horsebere Brook Flood Storage Area this morning birds included three Whinchats, a pair of Reed Warblers, three Grey Herons and a Little Grebe family (2 ads, 1 juv). (Dave Stone).

Symonds Yat     From Yat Rock viewpoint today the adult Peregrines and a juvenile, two Goshawks, a Hobby, a male Sparrowhawk, a Kestrel, Buzzards, Jays, Ravens, two Little Egrets, a LESSER SPOTTED WOODPECKER, Stock Doves, a Marsh Tit, six Linnets, two juvenile Grey Herons, House Martins and Swallows. Other sightings included Red Admiral, Common Blue, Holly Blue and Speckled Wood butterflies, a Hornet and two Fallow Deer does with a fawn each. Frampton     This morning at the Sailing Lake the adult Yellow-legged Gull, a Common Sandpiper, a Common Tern, two Willow Warblers, eight Mistle Thrushes and 12 Pied Wagtails. Around the pools this evening the GREAT WHITE EGRET, three Green Sandpipers, two Water Rails and three Little Egrets. (Nick Goatman).

Forest of Dean     Two Whinchats at Crabtree Hill at 9:10am. (Frank Williams).

Gloucester     At Robinswood Hill at 5:30pm SO8394815128 a Redstart, heard calling, and seen briefly. Ian’s first sighting on the Hill in 18 1/2 years. (Ian Elphick).

Witcombe Reservoirs     30+ Swallows, a Pied Wagtail, 24 Greylags, five Little Grebes, 8+ Chiffchaffs, 38+ House Martins, three Great Crested Grebes, a Grey Heron, two Cormorants, 54+ Coot, 14 Tufted Ducks, two Kingfishers, a Green Woodpecker, a calling Cetti’s Warbler on far side of causeway, five Buzzards, a Kestrel and a Sparrowhawk. Shuthonger     Two Tawny Owls along the bridleway at the bottom of Woodend Lane and a Kingfisher flew downriver towards the sailing club this evening. (Sarah Loaring).

Brockworth     A male Peregrine with orange/red colour ring on left leg perched on a pylon at SO886179 tonight. (Terry Fenton).

Nailsworth     One, possibly two Hawfinches on the Avening road near Longfords Mill. Four Swifts S at Nailsworth. (Terry Grant).

WWT Slimbridge     Two Marsh Harriers were sparring in front of the Holden Tower this morning. (Roy Shilham). Three Yellow Wagtails this morning in with the cows on the right hand side of the road approaching WWT. (Steve Brown). WWT Slimbridge     A PECTORAL SANDPIPER reported from Robbie Garnett hide briefly early afternoon. (Adrienne Sanders). An OSPREY on driftwood on the river seen from Mid Point from 9:25am this morning until 10:15am when it flew off inland in the direction of Dursley. (Slimbridge Wild).

Fairford     The OSPREY seen roosting in the North Cotswolds recently seen flying over Fairford today, almost certainly fishing at Fairford pits. This was at the same time as the WWT bird. (Duncan Dine).

Longlevens     A Ring-necked Parakeet over the garden at 7:25 this morning. (Martin Greenish).

Coombe Hill Meadows     A Spotted Flycatcher today in mature Willow tree along the canal towpath c250m W of Grundon hide. (John Widgery).

Nailsworth     76 Swifts, 350+ House Martins and 90+ Swallows moving S and a Garden Warbler in the garden today. (Terry Grant).

Aylburton     In the Aylburton Warth and Stockwell Brook area this morning three Teal, seven Grey Herons, a Sparrowhawk, two Kestrels, eight Ringed Plovers, 70+ Curlews, two Snipe, a Greenshank, two Green Sandpipers, five Common Sandpipers, two Ravens, a Sand Martin, 50 Swallows, 12 Blackcaps, a Lesser Whitethroat, six Whitethroats, 13 Reed Warblers, 16 Mistle Thrushes, four Wheatears, ten Yellow Wagtails, a Grey Wagtail, a Tree Pipit heard overhead, 25 Meadow Pipits and 120 Goldfinches. Also at least one Golden-ringed Dragonfly. Coates     This afternoon along the Wysis way near Coates at SO 96458 01153 three Crossbills in a pine tree and a Silver-washed Fritillary and several Commas on Bramble fruit. (Michael Cook).

At Pit 85a 20 Gadwalls, 12+ Mallards, 23 Lapwings, 19 Canada Geese, two Cetti’s Warblers, a Kingfisher, two Little Egrets, three Sparrowhawks, four Chiffchaffs. Forest of Dean     Five Hawfinches in trees in front of Nagshead visitor centre briefly early afternoon, also a Lesser Redpoll at the heath on the Long Trail. (RSPB Gloucestershire). At Nagshead dipping pond a Buzzard, a female Bullfinch and a Jay. Also a Holly Blue butterfly, Southern Hawker and Common Darter, a Hornet with Bee prey and Emerald Damselflies. Symonds Yat     From Yat Rock viewpoint the Peregrines, a Goshawk, seven Buzzards, a Goldcrest, two Jays, Swallows and House Martins, a Little Egret, two Ravens, two Nuthatches, a Great Spotted Woodpecker and a Green Woodpecker. Lydney New Grounds     Along the foreshore this morning, three Common Sandpipers, three Curlews, a Little Egret, five Wheatears, two Buzzards and a Kestrel. (Steve Brown).

Symonds Yat     From Yat Rock viewpoint today the resident Peregrine pair and a juvenile, a Goshawk, two Hobbies, a male and female Sparrowhawk, six Buzzards, Nuthatches, Coal Tits, four Ravens, two Swifts, House Martins and Swallows, six Linnets, Stock Doves. Other sightings included Common Blue, Holly Blue, Speckled Wood and Meadow Brown butterflies and a Hornet. Coombe Hill Meadows     A Canada Goose, five Teal, four Shovelers, 70 Mallards, five Grey Herons, a Kestrel hunting, 20 Moorhens, 130 Lapwings, at least five Green Sandpipers, a Kingfisher along the canal, three immature Whinchats sitting in the uncut grass and lots of immature Chiffchaffs calling from the vegetation. Sheepscombe     Five Buzzards, one bird was mobbing the three of the others, including a juvenile at SO882118. Also nine House Martins, two Swallows, a Swift and two Mallards. (John Fletcher). Pics by John.

Along the canal sightings included Speckled Wood, Common Blue, Comma, Green-veined White, Small White, Gatekeeper and Meadow Brown butterflies, Emperor, Brown Hawker, Ruddy Darter and Common Darter dragonflies and Blue-tailed and Emerald Damselflies. Cheltenham      Above the Hatherley Brook, Merestones, Buzzards and Ravens incoming from the direction of Leckhampton Hill, disputing territory with the resident Crows and Lesser Black-backed Gulls. Towards the west, towards Up Hatherley, a possible Peregrine. (Bob Barker).
