Cotswold Water Park West     No sign of the Little Bittern this afternoon but two Hobbies, an Egyptian Goose, a Kingfisher, seven Common Terns and an Oystercatcher. (John Fletcher).

Stroud     A Hobby low over suburban gardens today at 3pm at Uplands, a garden tick. (Graham Bullivant).

Twyning     At Upham Meadow at least six Curlews, a Hobby, 2-3 Reed Buntings and 1+ Sedge Warbler. (Mike Smart).

Shuthonger Common     20 Lesser Black-backed Gulls, 200 Jackdaws and 100 Rooks following the tractor and two Reed Buntings singing. (Mike Smart).

Forthampton     Ten Sand Martins and a Cuckoo today. (Mike Smart).

Haw Bridge (Wainlodes side)      50 Lesser Black-backed Gulls and 100 Jackdaws following the tractor. (Mike Smart).

Cam     At 5.45am a Peregrine flew over Cam Long Down. (Ken Smallwood).

Firecrest 130617Ashleworth Ham     Four Curlews roosting, two Teal, a pair of Shelducks with one surviving duckling, an Oystercatcher and a Lapwing. A ringing session caught 72 birds including juveniles of Blackcap, Whitethroat and Chiffchaff, a male Grasshopper Warbler already caught earlier in the season, a Lesser Whitethroat, three adult Redstarts, three Linnets and three Reed Buntings. Rodmarton     14+ Swifts, 16+ Skylarks, 22+ Linnets, four Buzzards, 10+ Yellowhammers, 12+ Whitethroats, a Yellow Wagtail, four Stock Doves, five Swallows, two Grey Partridges on set-aside field margin, a Coal Tit, a Nuthatch, a Mistle Thrush and a Blackcap today. (Mark Grieve).

Bourton-on-the-Water     At the south pits two Hobbies hunting and a Common Tern. A Cetti’s Warbler continuing to sing at the north pits. (Andy Lewis).

Tewkesbury     On Severn Ham still two Curlews, a Cuckoo singing, 2-3 Skylarks singing, two Sedge Warblers, a Whitethroat, 3-4 Reed Buntings, two Cormorants and two Ravens over. At Avon Meadows, Mitton in the last field in Gloucestershire behind the sailing club (SO897340), three pairs of Lapwings with chicks of varying sizes, two pairs of Mallards with ducklings, eight Mute Swans, at least five Sand Martins and at least 50 Starlings. (Mike Smart).

Cranham     No sign of the Hoopoe today but plenty of Mistle Thrushes, small flocks of Linnets including juveniles, a Kestrel, multiple Buzzards and a Red Kite flew over at 5pm. (Paul Sutton).

Huntley     A Hobby hawking for insects at 6:25pm. (Martin Drew).

May Hill     A pair of Stonechats amongst the ferns on top of May Hill at 7:30pm. (Warwick Humphries).

Gloucester     A secondhand report of an OTTER in Gloucester Docks. It got out of the water and crossed the road and got into the Severn by the docks. (Charles Martell).

Coombe Hill Meadows     A pair of Grasshopper Warblers, a Willow Warbler, three Chiffchaffs, two Cormorants over, two Grey Herons, male and female Cuckoo, a Reed Warbler, two Curlews, an adult and a juvenile Great Spotted Woodpecker, a pair of Bullfinches, five Goldfinches, a pair of Linnets, Sedge Warblers and Whitethroats plentiful. Forest of Dean     Two singing Wood Warblers at Horse Lawn/Yewtree Brake Inclosure on a triangular walk from the car park. Several Tree Pipits at Crabtree Hill including a colour ringed one, blue over orange. Two Pied Flycatchers at Nagshead and a pair of Mandarins in the Lower Hide pond. (Vic Polley & Dursley Bird Club).

WWT Slimbridge    A first summer and a second summer Mediterranean Gull on the Rushy and two pairs of Avocets with a chick. Also 92 Black-tailed Godwits and 54 Avocets on South Lake including three small chicks and at least ten larger chicks. (MK).

Coombe Hill Meadows     This morning two adult Oystercatchers with two chicks, c10 adult Lapwings and two broods of 2 and 3 large chicks and a brood of two very recently hatched chicks, two pairs of Redshanks with young, one pair with at least one large chick almost flying, and another brood with four tiny chicks, recently hatched, at least two Curlews, a Little Ringed Plover, a pair of Mute Swans with at least six cygnets, a Little Egret, a Grasshopper Warbler still reeling, a Reed Warbler, at least two Cuckoos and smaller numbers of Sedge Warblers, Blackcaps, Whitethroats, Willow Warblers, Chiffchaffs and Reed Buntings. Ashleworth Ham     A pair of Canada Geese with four goslings, a pair of Shelducks with only one chick left, nine Mallards and a male Teal. (Les Brown).

Elkestone     A Red Kite near the Highwayman Inn on A417 at Beech Pike today. (Mark Grieve).

Gloucester     Ten House Martins and a Swift over Gloucester Docks today. (Mark Grieve).

Coombe Hill Meadows     This afternoon birds included two Cuckoos, two pairs of Redshanks and four  juveniles, two Curlews, nine Lapwings, a Little Egret, a Grey Heron, two Little Ringed Plovers, two Oystercatchers, two Bullfinches, three male Reed Buntings, five Linnets, six Skylarks, two Buzzards, four House Martins, six Swallows, two Pied Wagtails, a pair of Blackcaps, three Sedge Warblers, five Willow Warblers and ten Mute Swans (8 juvs). Cotswold Water Park West     The LITTLE BITTERN still at Shorncote Reedbed today, seen in flight at 4:30am. Also a Hobby. (Ian Hull). Later it was seen to fly across the water from left hand to right hand reedbed at 3:20pm in view for all of 5 seconds. (Roger Scase). Please use Upper Up Playing Fields car park and stick to footpaths on the reserve please.

Cranham     The HOOPOE still on Cranham Common but very elusive. Seen at 5:30pm for 5 minutes then it flew to the cattle enclosure. Please park sensibly in the village and surrounding area as parking is very limited. (Kenny Hills). Other birds here included seven Willow Warblers (5 juvs), four Whitethroats, three Mistle Thrushes (2 juvs) and a Buzzard. (John Fletcher).

Tewkesbury     At the Mythe reserve a Cuckoo, a Buzzard, a Sparrowhawk, Swallows, Swifts, House Martins, a Sedge Warbler, a Kingfisher, Chiffchaffs and Blackcaps. Other sightings included Brimstone, Small Tortoiseshell, Green-veined White, Speckled Wood and Large Skipper butterflies, a Red-tipped Clearwing moth, a Rove Beetle, an Alder Spittlebug, Harlequin ladybirds, Scarce Chaser, Broad-bodied Chaser, Black-tailed Skimmer dragonflies, Beautiful and Banded Demoiselles, Common Blue, Azure Blue, Blue-tailed, White-legged and Red-eyed Damselflies. Forest of Dean     At 2pm  a family party of Ravens calling over Forge Hill, Lydbrook. At 5pm a Red Kite drifting over Forge Hill in the direction of Coppett Hill, a garden first. Also a Painted Lady, a Scarlet Tiger and a Six-Spot Burnet moth. (Chris Sullivan).

Quedgeley     A Hobby over the garden at 5:40pm. (MK).

Birdlip     A Red Kite low over the village at 7:30pm. (Mark Grieve).
