Minchinhampton Common     Three Wheatears and 140+ Carrion Crows, post roost dispersal, today. (Terry Grant).

Cotswold Water Park West     This afternoon, two Nightingales at Pit 43 and Garden Warblers, Reed Buntings, Willow Warblers, a Sedge Warbler, a Cetti’s Warbler and nine Swifts at Pits 65/43. (Vic Polley/Terry Grant).

Frampton     Three Hobbies and two Common Terns on Court Lake today. (Dan White).

Stinchcombe Hill     A Cuckoo, a Garden Warbler and a Willow Warbler this evening. (Paul Taylor).

Forest of Dean    A Pied Flycatcher, a LESSER SPOTTED WOODPECKER and a Reed Bunting in the Woorgreens area this morning. (Frank Williams).

Symonds Yat    From the viewpoint today the Peregrine pair and an intruding adult Peregrine, a Kestrel, a pair of Sparrowhawks, six Buzzards, the resident Raven pair with three juveniles, a Jay, a pair of Marsh Tits, two Swifts, Swallows and House Martins, five Siskins, four Stock Doves, a male Bullfinch and a Kingfisher. Also a Brimstone, Green Longhorn Moths, Ashy Mining  Bees, a Bank Vole and 14 Fallow Deer. (Chris & Phil Andrews).

Woodchester Park     16 nests in the heronry and most of the young Grey Herons now almost ready to fly. (Terry Grant).

Tirley     A calling Lesser Whitethroat next to cottage and a male Siskin in the garden, a garden first. (Mark Grieve).

Upham Meadow     This morning a Mute Swan, four Greylags, 13 Canada Geese, a Mallard with three tiny ducklings on the Avon, a Grey Heron, at least six Curlews, three Skylarks, five Sedge Warblers and 2 or 3 Reed Buntings. (Mike Smart).

Forthampton     On Severnside meadows below Forthampton (SO 83Q) a Curlew heard, 30 Sand Martins around a colony and two singing Redstarts. (Mike Smart).

Nailsworth     A very early Hummingbird Hawk Moth in the garden today. (Terry Grant).

WWT Slimbridge     A Swift and a Greenshank today. (Robin Griffiths).

Highnam Woods     This morning two Marsh Tits, a Coal Tit, two Nightingales, a pair of Blackcaps, two Nuthatches, a male Great Spotted Woodpecker and two Chiffchaffs. (Les Waring). Pic by Les.Nightingale 020516

Awre    As the tide was coming in this afternoon a LITTLE TERN feeding over the estuary and then flying off upriver.  Also a Common Tern, a first-summer Mediterranean Gull  and five Sanderlings with a flock of Dunlin. Also a female type MARSH HARRIER flying around over the other side of the estuary, in the 100 Acre area. (John & Viv Phillips).

Stratton     At 7pm  a Swift flying over N. (Ken Cservenka).

Frampton      A female MARSH HARRIER over the 100-Acre at 7:03am. Six Whimbrel over the pools and an ARCTIC TERN on the Sailing Lake at 4:50pm then flew high N.(Paul Taylor). Around the pools 30+ Swifts, six Yellow Wagtails, two Lesser Whitethroats, six Whitethroats, a Cuckoo, 20 Chiffchaffs, 21 Blackcaps, two Common Sandpipers and five Reed Warblers. (Nick Goatman).

Severnside meadows, Haw Bridge to Chaceley Stock     Six Mute Swans, two Little Egrets over, two Curlews, a Cuckoo singing, five Sand Martins (round Malthouse Farm colony), two Redstarts, a Sedge Warbler, two Lesser Whitethroats. three Whitethroats, five Linnets and a Reed Bunting. (Mike Smart ).

Coombe Hill Meadows     This evening birds included 12 Canada Geese, four Greylags, 23 Shelducks, three Wigeon (2m, 1f), 12 Gadwalls, a Little Egret, two Oystercatchers, 15 Lapwings. four Curlews came into roost, a Common Sandpiper, at least two Redshanks, a Cuckoo, ten Swifts and a Cetti’s Warbler. (Mike Smart). Earlier 7+ Sedge Warblers, two Blackcaps, 3+ Whitethroats, a Lesser Whitethroat, a Willow Warbler, three Chiffchaffs, two Swallows, 6+ Lapwings, a Redshank and two Reed Buntings. On the GWT birds included ten Shelducks, a Teal, six Gadwalls,  a Tufted Duck, three Grey Herons, two Little Egrets, two Oystercatchers, 15 Lapwings, a Whimbrel, three Redshanks, two Common Sandpipers, five Swifts, ten House Martins, five Sand Martins, a Cetti’s Warbler, 5+ Sedge Warblers, two Lesser Whitethroats, two Whitethroats and three Chiffchaffs. An Oystercatcher was on Court Field. N of Splatt Bridge a Lesser Whitethroat, a Cetti’s Warbler and a Little Egret. In the reedbed S of Splatt Bridge a Sedge Warbler, a Reed Warbler and a Cetti’s Warbler and three Swifts over. (MK).

Forest of Dean      Belated news of a LESSER SPOTTED WOODPECKER last Tuesday and Wednesday (19th & 20th) in oak trees by Yorkley Community centre. (Don Pugh).

Cleeve Hill    In the West Down area a Bullfinch, a Cuckoo, three  Whitethroats, a singing Redstart, a Stock Dove, a Jay, three Tree Pipits and a Chiffchaff. A the top of the Wash Pool valley three RING OUZELS, a male Stonechat, a male Whinchat on the gallops, also nine Swallows N, 13+ Skylarks, 40+ Linnets, 8+ Yellowhammers, 9+ Meadow Pipits and 10+ Willow Warblers. Bourton-on-the-Water     A Grasshopper Warbler reeling in the scrapes at New Bridge, seven Snipe, and a Wigeon. (Andy Lewis). A Cetti’s Warbler heard singing at the southern pits today. (John Pike).

Cleeve Hill     Two male RING OUZELS still on the opposite side to the Heather enclosure sheltered from the northerly wind at 2:15pm. (Chris Berry).

Naunton     A male Whinchat, a male Wheatear and a female Yellow Wagtail in a snowstorm this evening. (Richard Tyler).

Cleeve Hill    Early morning eight RING OUZELS, 35 +Linnets, 15+ Yellowhammers, 25+ Skylarks, 12 Meadow Pipits, a male Stonechat, two Sparrowhawks, four Whitethroats, a Jay, a Stock Dove, four Chiffchaffs, 18+ Willow Warblers, a Bullfinch and a male Redstart. (Mark Grieve).

Saul Warth    A male PIED FLYCATCHER around Dunstalls Wood on the Severn Way at 12:30pm, but no sign later. Also today two Whimbrels, two Wheatears, three Lesser Whitethroats, three Whitethroats, four Willow Warbler and a Common Sandpiper. (Francis Steuck).

Selsley Common    This morning a Wheatear, a Raven, two Linnets, a Mistle Thrush, two Kestrels (1m, 1f), three Meadow Pipits and at least ten singing Skylarks. (Hugh Manistre).

Forest of Dean     A Wood Warbler singing today along on the sculpture trail. (Rob Guest).

Frampton    A Nightingale still singing in the Gravel Wash today. (Geoff Moyser).

Bourton Downs    Ten Redstarts paired or singing along the Hinchwick valley on the NCOS field meeting.  Also a Whinchat in the valley and a Wheatear up on the wold. (Andy Lewis).

Whitminster     Along the canal today a Hobby, two Yellow Wagtails, two Sedge Warblers, 45 Sand Martins and two Lesser Whitethroats. (Rich Baatsen).

Gloucester     A Lesser Whitethroat singing at 2pm today near the small (Alney Island) car park by Westgate Bridge. (Ian Elphick).

Stratton     A Whitethroat in fields and a Little Egret in the field next to Stratton Church today. (Ken Cservenka).
