Coombe Hill Meadows      This morning a juvenile Redstart, two Treecreepers, a Spotted Flycatcher, three Long-tailed Tits, a Chiffchaff, two Whitethroats, a Great Spotted Woodpecker, three Oystercatchers, two Redshanks, two Avocets and a chick, two Great White Egrets, two Little Egrets, a Lapwing chick amongst adults and a Little Ringed Plover. In the evening a pair of Mute Swans still with seven cygnets, two Little Egrets, two adult Avocets with 3-4 chicks, two adult Oystercatchers with a chick, two adult Little Ringed Plovers, c6 adult Lapwings with at least three broods, an adult Curlew and four more adults came in to roost, a Redshank, a Cuckoo and a female Yellow Wagtail. Hardwicke     This morning in the Clarke’s Farm area, ten Whitethroats, two Skylarks, four Yellowhammers, three Chiffchaffs, three Blackcaps, a Buzzard and a Little Owl at Hardwicke Farm, the first in the area for several years. (Paul Masters).

Forest of Dean     A briefly singing Willow Warbler heard from the path to Lower Hide. From the hide early afternoon a juvenile and two female Redstarts, a female Pied Flycatcher and a Spotted Flycatcher. This afternoon from the Short Trail a pair of Spotted Flycatchers. A singing Firecrest heard in hollies approaching the Campbell hide. From the hide birds coming down to bathe included a Treecreeper, a Nuthatch, a female Blackbird, a pair of Blue Tits, a juvenile Robin, a juvenile Mistle Thrush and a Wren. (Andy & Sue Gibbons).

Cotswolds    In the Syreford to Hawling area a Red Kite, a Barn Owl, two Kestrels, four Ravens, a Garden Warbler, c20 Whitethroats, three Treecreepers, a Spotted Flycatcher, a male Redstart, two Stonechats, two Yellow Wagtails, four Tree Pipits, two Corn Buntings, c20 Yellowhammers and two Reed Buntings. In the Huntsman’s Quarry area near Naunton six Lapwings including two chicks, a Red Kite, a Kestrel, 34 Stock Doves, a Lesser Whitethroat, two Corn Buntings, a male Reed Bunting and two Fox cubs. Coombe Hill Meadows     This evening a drake Shoveler, a Cuckoo, a pair of Avocet with three chicks, eight Lapwings and a brood of four chicks, a pair of Little Ringed Plovers with two small chicks, six Curlews came into roost, a pair of Redshank with three medium sized chicks, two Great White Egrets, two Little Egrets and a Garden Warbler singing along track. Ashleworth Ham     Constant Effort Site ringing caught 45 birds including Redstarts (three juveniles), an adult Reed Warbler, two adult Sedge Warblers, at least seven Blackcaps (several juveniles), at least ten Whitethroats (mainly juveniles), an adult Lesser Whitethroat, a juvenile Chiffchaff, a Treecreeper and two adult Linnets. Coombe Hill Meadows     This morning four adult Mute Swans and seven cygnets, a pair of Canada Geese with five goslings, two Shelducks, 40 Mallards, a male Shoveler, a Little Egret, Coots with chicks on the canal, two Avocets with at least two chicks, two Little Ringed Plovers with two chicks, two Oystercatchers with a chick, c8 Lapwings with at least two broods on the reserve, at least four Curlews, 2+ Redshanks, a Cuckoo, a male Yellow Wagtail, also singing Redstarts, Reed and Sedge Warblers, Blackcaps and Chiffchaffs. Huntley     At 9am a Red Kite at low level for 10 minutes before climbing and drifting off S also two Buzzards and a Raven. (Derek Summers).

Twyning     At Upham Meadow four Mute Swans, 14 adult Canada Geese, two pairs each with a family of five goslings, six Curlews, ten House Martins, 6+ Skylarks, two Reed Warblers, two Reed Buntings and a Corn Bunting perched on the docks. (Mike Smart).

Leigh Meadows     During hay cutting  80 Lesser Black-backed Gulls and 20 Herring Gulls following the tractor and a Reed Bunting singing. (Mike Smart).
