Withington     A Grasshopper Warbler flushed from crop strip near Upcote Farm this morning and seen well in the hedge. Also two Corn Buntings. (Tom Mabbett).

Symonds Yat      In the Yat Rock area today the Peregrine pair, Buzzards, a Kingfisher, Stock Doves, a Little Egret, four Mandarins, Swallows and House Martins. Other sightings included Painted Lady and Holly Blue butterflies. (Chris & Phil Andrews).

Coombe Hill Meadows     A Redstart and three Whinchats at Snipe pool. A Green Sandpiper and a Dunlin on north scrape. (Ian Hull).

Tetbury     One Swift still in and out of a nest in the roof near Tetbury, presumably a second brood. There were five nests in the roof and nearly all the other Swifts left in mid July. (Fiona Gunn).

From the Zeiss hide this morning a female/immature Marsh Harrier, putting everything up, including a Greenshank a Whimbrel, and 11 Curlews, all  juveniles, four of with head-started rings. Guscar Rocks     At high tide this afternoon 650 Curlews, a Black-tailed Godwit, a Turnstone, c50 Dunlin and an immature female Peregrine. (Mike Smart).

Cleeve Hill     From the West Down car park an OSPREY in the dead tree 200m to the SW at 8:30am, then flew off towards Whittington at 8:40am. A Woodcock flushed from the side of the track to Wontley Farm, a Painted Lady and a Southern Hawker. At Wontley Farm three Whinchats in the field with the thistles and three Buzzards and four Red Kites up together. Also a Small Tortoiseshell and two Common Blues. (Steve Brown).

Arlingham     Along the Severn Way between the sluice and Old Passage this morning a Marsh Harrier, two Grey Herons, three Little Egrets, two Great Black-backed Gulls, a Whinchat, a pair of Reed Warblers and two Skylarks. (Helen Bojaniwska).

Maisemore     From Church Road around the pool and to the weir along the Severn birds included the released two male Wood Ducks, 14 Mallards, two Mute Swans, 13 Long-tailed Tits, five Swallows, a Bullfinch, a Great Spotted Woodpecker heard, two Cormorants, a Common Sandpiper, a Red Kite and five Buzzards. Lydney     At Lydney Harbour this afternoon along the shore, 3pm 100 Canada Geese, eight Greylags and a Great Black-backed Gull, 100 Lesser Black-backed Gulls, 30 Herring Gulls and ten Black-headed Gulls. In scrub alongside the harbour six Long-tailed Tits and a Redstart. On the fishing Lake S of the railway station a pair of Great Crested Grebes with two large chicks. (Mike Ingleby).
