Saul Warth     At high tide today 20 Shelducks, 30 Curlews, a Little Egret, a Grey Heron, a Kestrel, a pale Buzzard, six Mistle Thrushes, 12 Goldfinches, two Linnets, a Lesser Whitethroat, 6+ Yellow Wagtails and a Meadow Pipit. (MK).

Stinchcombe Hill    Five Spotted Flycatchers busy feeding close to the 6th tee this evening. Plenty of Chiffchaffs and Blackcaps around and at least 27 Pied Wagtails. Several Painted Ladies and a Marbled White. (James Robinson).

Hawling     In the area today four Red Kites, a Kestrel, a female Sparrowhawk, two Buzzards, Yellowhammers, Swallows and House Martins. Other sightings included a Weasel, Peacock, Green-veined White, Large and Small White, Small Tortoiseshell and Small Heath butterflies. (Chris & Phil Andrews).

Nailsworth     Belated news of an OSPREY yesterday flying W at 6:55pm over Windsoredge. Today between 5:55-7:05pm) at least 810 Swifts moving S, many high up, with at least 200 House Martins. (Terry Grant).

Gloucester     At Horsbere Flood Storage Lake this morning the GREAT WHITE EGRET still, also a Little Egret, a Grey Heron, a Kestrel and a Swift. (Dave Stone).

Hartpury     A Green Sandpiper in the reed beds at the  Orchard Centre this morning at 7:30am. (Steve French).

Frampton pools     This evening a Common Sandpiper, eight Green Sandpipers, a Cetti’s Warbler, four Reed Warblers, four Willow Warblers, two Water Rails, 50+ Sand Martins and the adult Yellow-legged Gull. (Nick Goatman).

Stonehouse    A Kingfisher along the canal below Boakes Drive tonight. 40-50 House Martins around St Cyrs Church and a Green Woodpecker calling from the trees in the field below the canal. Also a Red Kite reported by others. (Paul Sutton).

Tewkesbury     At the Mythe Reserve today an adult and juvenile Buzzard, a Jay, a Sparrowhawk, Swallows and Long-tailed Tits. Other sightings included a Speckled Bush Cricket, Large White, Green-veined White, Meadow Brown, Speckled Wood, Comma, Red Admiral, Painted Lady and Holly Blue butterflies, Common Blue and White-legged Damselflies, Common Darter, Ruddy Darter, Southern Hawker and Migrant Hawker dragonflies. WWT Slimbridge     From Zeiss hide a Marsh Harrier, a Spoonbill, a Peregrine, 7+ Knot, seven Ruff, six Common Cranes, a Greenshank and a Common Tern. On the Rushy a Ruff, a Greenshank and two Snipe. On South Lake a Common Tern, four Little Ringed Plovers and a Green Sandpiper. A Whinchat and a Wheatear at Mid Point. (Jonathan Bull).

Awre     A Grasshopper Warbler, a Cetti’s Warbler, two Common Sandpipers, a Green Sandpiper, two Redshanks and three Kestrels at Brims Pill. Also a Great Crested Grebe drifting upriver on the tide. (Andy Jayne).

Cherington     At Cherington Lake and in the surrounding woods ST899985 birds included two Spotted Flycatchers, three Treecreepers, three Goldcrests, three Nuthatches, a Kingfisher, seven House Martins, eight Swallows, a Swift, three Willow Warblers, three Chiffchaffs, two Bullfinches, four Long-tailed Tits, three Stock Doves, a Grey Wagtail, a Great Spotted Woodpecker and five Buzzards. Symonds Yat     In the Yat Rock area today the Peregrine pair and another adult Peregrine perched on Great Doward Hill, a Hobby, Buzzards, a Red Kite, Ravens, Stock Doves, a Green Woodpecker, a Jay, Swallows, House Martins, Linnets and a Little Egret. Other sightings included a Bank Vole, Common Blue, Painted Lady, Holly Blue, Speckled Wood, Gatekeeper, Silver-washed Fritillary and Large Skipper butterflies. Guscar Rocks     At high tide 41 Canada Geese, a Grey Heron, a Buzzard, a Lapwing, four Ringed Plovers, a Dunlin, 197 Curlews, four Redshanks, a Turnstone, 150 Black-headed Gulls in the roost and a Yellow Wagtail and a Raven heard. (Mike Smart).

Sharpness     A GUILLEMOT floated up between Berkeley Pill and the docks at 10:40am. (Geoff Moyser). A juvenile SHAG on the river but flew S at 11:15am. Also a Garden Warbler in the bushes by the picnic site car park. 65 Curlews flew N with two Black-tailed Godwits at SARA at 8:25pm. (Andy Jordan).

Saul Warth     This afternoon 80 Curlews, 40 Shelducks and a Little Egret on the river. In the hedgerows two Redstarts, a Reed Warbler, 3+ Chiffchaffs, a Willow Warbler and a Whitethroat and 23 Sand Martins and a Swallow flew S. Also five Painted Ladies. (MK).

Nailsworth     Still two adult Swifts with full crops entering separate nests on the former Nailsworth Town Council building at ST849994. (Jake King). Between 6:50-7:40am 330+ House Martins and seven Swifts flew S. Later a few House Martins and another 14 Swifts. (Terry Grant).

At Cannop Ponds at 8am 22 Mandarins, two Tufted Ducks, a male Bullfinch, six Chaffinches, a colour ringed Dipper (blue R, red L) below the Stoneworks, c4 Swallows, c10 House Martins and three Grey Wagtails. Guscar Rocks and Cone Brook     At high tide today 180 House Sparrows on a wheat field, also 22 Goldfinches, seven Greenfinches, two Collared Doves, a Buzzard, eight Grey Herons, a Cormorant, 140 Black-headed Gulls, 320 Curlews, two Oystercatchers, a Dunlin and two immature Shelducks. WWT Slimbridge     At high tide this morning 85 Shelducks, a SPOONBILL, a Hobby, five Oystercatchers, 50 Avocets, 300 Dunlins, 26 Knot, 290 Curlews, a Whimbrel, two Common Sandpipers, four Turnstones and a Wheatear. The Curlew flock included at least six of the ringed head-started birds released at Slimbridge this summer. (Mike Smart).
