Coombe Hill Meadows     From the Grundon hide two Wigeon, a Gadwall, Grey Herons, a Lapwing flock, two Little Ringed Plovers, two Green Sandpipers, and a pair of Wheatears. Along the canal and towpath two Buzzards, a female Redstart, Sedge Warblers, Swallows, House Martins and Greenfinches. Also Gatekeeper, Meadow Brown, Small Skipper, Common Blue, Comma, Speckled Wood, Ringlet, Peacock, Red Admiral, Large, Small and Green-veined White butterflies and Silver-Y Moths, Emerald, Common Blue and Banded Demoiselle damselflies, Emperor, Brown Hawker, Southern Hawker, Four-spotted Chaser, Black-tailed Skimmer, Ruddy Darter and Common Darter dragonflies. Three Bullfinches (2m, 1f), two male Blackcaps, a Whitethroat, three Wrens, eight Chaffinches, 14 Goldfinches, a Mistle Thrush, a pair of Tufted Ducks, eight Mallards, a Little Grebe, a female Stonechat at SP 14787 03029. Three Buzzards, a Kestrel, a Red Kite, a Grey Partridge and a Stoat, at SP 14304 02789. Two Linnets, two Yellowhammers, a Coal Tit, a Marsh Tit, three Corn Buntings on wires at SP 14291 03080. Also Rose Chafers, Hummingbird Hawk moths, Bank Voles, Fallow Deer and Silver-washed Fritillary, Small and Large White, Holly Blue, Painted Lady, Common Blue, Speckled Wood, Ringlet and Gatekeeper butterflies. Blue, Common Blue, Small Copper, Large, Small and Green Veined White and
