Saul     Two CATTLE EGRETS with 17 Little Egrets at 2pm in fields to the N of the Arlingham Road from Cadbury Bridge (viewed from footpath that leads to Saul pool and church). (Tim Hutton). Frampton     A female Red Crested Pochard on Court Lake later on the Sailing Lake. Also a male Mandarin and c60 Sand Martins heading S with one Swallow. A pair of Pintails on the flashes N of Splatt bridge. (Tim Hutton). A Swallow, ten Sand Martins and four Oystercatchers at Splatt Bridge flashes. (Gordon Hodgson). Also around the pools 50+ Sand Martins, three Swallows, nine Chiffchaffs, a singing Blackcap, two Water Rails, four Siskins, 78 Tufted Ducks, two Oystercatchers and two pairs of Great Crested Grebes displaying. Saul Warth     A Barn Owl, which flew from the line of trees at Hock Ditch towards Fretherne church at 6:50am. Also four Oystercatchers, an adult sinensis type Cormorant, three Reed Buntings, six Meadow Pipits and a singing Chiffchaff. (MK).

Witcombe Reservoirs     25+ Sand Martins, six Chiffchaffs, 30 Tufted Ducks, six Great Crested Grebes, a Cormorant, 29 Canada Geese, two Little Grebes, two Water Rails, a Sparrowhawk, two Goldcrests, a Pied Wagtail, two Bullfinches, six Siskins, two Treecreepers, eight Teal and a Stock Dove. Sharpness     Seven Sand Martins at SARA pool at 8:30am. (Paul Taylor).

Berkeley     A Swallow N past the shore late morning and two Sand Martins. Also a Wheatear still at Severn House Farm. (Paul Taylor). A FIRECREST singing within Berkeley Castle/church grounds this morning but could be heard from the top car park. (Tom Weston-McClung).

WWT Slimbridge     At least eight Mediterranean Gulls on site today, seven on South Lake. Two adults in breeding plumage, four second summers and two first winter/summers. (Slimbridge Sightings).

Dymock     A Barn Owl hunting at 6pm this evening right on the Glos/Herefords border N of Dymock seen from the B4215, also two Stock Doves foraging on a roadside verge nearby. (Steve Pullen).

Cockadilly     A pair of Siskins on a feeder today. Last recorded (and ringed) c. 15 years ago. (David Price).

Halmore     A ringed Greenfinch in the garden today, up to seven Reed Buntings and a pair of Mandarins in an oak tree this morning. (Chris Newton).

Edge     At Rudge Hill N.N.R. mid afternoon four Meadow Pipits, three Goldcrests, two Green Woodpeckers, a Great Spotted Woodpecker heard, a Buzzard and a Coal Tit. (John Fletcher).

Tewkesbury     At Severn Ham two Great Crested Grebes swimming on the lake covering the Ham and two Curlews huddled on the only bit of green grass left. (Mike Smart).

Upham Meadow     A Gadwall, 30 Wigeon and six Curlews today. (Mike Smart).

Cotswold Water Park West     This evening birds included a Sand Martin, 18 Fieldfares, a pair of Gadwalls, a pair of Shovelers, a pair of Pochards, a Cormorant, three Grey Herons, four Mute Swans and a singing Cetti’s Warbler. (Malcolm Balster).

Nailsworth     A second year ICELAND GULL flew W along the Avening valley and veered N as it reached the Nailsworth valley with a group of 12 Lesser Black-backed and Herring Gulls at 8:16am. . Also at least two Grey Herons making daily visits to the garden pond. (Terry Grant).

WWT Slimbridge     An OSPREY over the grounds/reserve heading N at 10:57am. Also a Grey Plover from Holden Tower. (Slimbridge Sightings). Two Peregrines on a kill out on the Dumbles today. (Simon Ashley). A pair of Mediterranean Gulls on South Lake this morning. (Roberta Goodall).

Barnsley Warren SSSI     At the Fosse Way end two Grey Partridges, a Red Kite, two Buzzards, ten Common Gulls, five Lapwings, two Green Woodpeckers, a Great Spotted Woodpecker, ten Fieldfares, 40 Linnets and six singing Yellowhammers. Two more Grey Partridges on the other side of the Fosse Way. (Steve Brown).

Staunton & Corse     A pair of Mandarins flew in and perched atop an old orchard tree for 5 mins before fast flight NW. (Harvey Sherwood).

Edge     At Sevenleaze Lane from the entrance towards Spoonbed Farm mid afternoon at SO861124 30+ Linnets, two Kestrels and two Buzzards. (John Fletcher).

Tirley     A singing Chiffchaff today. (Mark Grieve).

Ashleworth Ham     An OSPREY at 12:39pm over the reserve heading towards Cleeve Hill. (Ken Heron). Birds today included a singing Chiffchaff, two Curlews, eight Lapwings, four Little Grebes, 35+ Shovelers, 21+ Mallards, 67+ Teal, 42+ Wigeon, 43+ Coots, eight Pintails, a Gadwall, two Snipe, seven Buzzards, four Tufted Ducks, a Reed Bunting, a Cormorant, a Red-legged Partridge, two Greylags and a drumming Great Spotted Woodpecker.  (Mark Grieve).

Frampton     At the pools a Willow Warbler, a Blackcap, a Cetti’s Warbler, a CATTLE EGRET, 11 Sand Martins, nine Chiffchaffs, a pair of Teal, 30+ Siskins and a Red Kite this morning. This evening two Swallows, 40+ Sand Martins and the female Red Crested Pochard. (Nick Goatman). A MERLIN at Splatt Bridge this morning, presumably the Saul Warth bird. (Gordon Hodgson).

Saul Warth     The WATER PIPIT this morning coming into summer plumage. (Gordon Hodgson). A MERLIN perched up before hunting and flying off high this morning. (Mark Dowie/Paul Rich).

Saul     Two CATTLE EGRETS and five Little Egrets in a field between Cadbury Bridge and Fretherne (half way between the two, on the right going towards Fretherne) at 4pm. (Richard Newton).

Stroud     A Hawfinch this morning flew high NE over Stroud Town Cemetery. (Francis Steuck).

Overton     A Little Owl in ash trees in Overton Lane this morning near the turning for Wick Court. (Sam Walker).

Cotswold Water Park East     At Pit 125 the SCAUP, a Green Sandpiper, two Egyptian Geese and good numbers of Reed Buntings this morning. (Ian Ralphs).

Frampton pools     Three Swallows, 50 Sand Martins, five Chiffchaffs, a female  Red Crested Pochard, nine Pochards, 71 Tufted Ducks, seven Gadwalls, a Kingfisher, 11 Pied Wagtails, 27 Linnets, two Siskins, two Oystercatchers and six Curlews today. Stratton     Ten Yellowhammers in the garden today. (Ken Cservenka).

Coombe Hill Meadows     A pair of Mute Swans, a Black Swan, a Grey Heron, a Little Grebe, six Greylags, three Shelducks, 300+ Wigeon, 600+ Teal, 90 Shovelers, 47 Pintails, 11 Gadwalls, ten Tufted Ducks, 15+ Lapwings, a Curlew, three Oystercatchers, ten Black-tailed Godwits, four Redshanks, a Ruff, 11 Snipe, a Pied Wagtail, six Stock Doves, a singing Skylark, three Bullfinches, a Reed Bunting, a Buzzard and a Chiffchaff feeding low on the wharf wall. Ashleworth Ham     This afternoon birds included 34 Coots, four Canada Geese, a female Gadwall, four Tufted Ducks, 33 Teal, 12 Wigeon, four Shovelers, two Lapwings, six Snipe, a Curlew heard, two Goldcrests, a Treecreeper, a Stock Dove, a Great Spotted Woodpecker and two Raven today. Tuffley     The Little Egret was back again in Grange Road fields by the old cow sheds at 7:10pm. (John Fletcher).

WWT Slimbridge     Two SANDWICH TERNS dropped into South Lake during heavy rain at 3pm but flew off quickly. (Barry Dursley).

Frampton     Three Egyptian Geese on Splatt flashes early morning, then flew towards the pools at 7:50am. Also 43 Curlews, seven Redshanks, a Green Sandpiper, two Oystercatchers, a Peregrine and two Sand Martins. (Gordon Hodgson). At the pools today 18 Sand Martins, five Chiffchaffs, two Fieldfares, four Redwings, a female Red Crested Pochard, a pair of Shelducks, a Green Sandpiper, ten Lapwings, 17 Gadwalls, a pair of Shovelers 103 Tufted Ducks and six Great Crested Grebes. Berkeley shore     Four JACK SNIPE this morning. (Paul Taylor). A Hawfinch calling above the car park at Berkeley Castle at 11:10am. (Tom Weston-McClung).

Saul Warth     30 Sand Martins flew upriver at 9am. Also 17 Fieldfares, 12 Redwings and the white Buzzard. (MK).

Sharpness     A Common Sandpiper this morning. (Andy Jordan).

Stroud     Eight Hawfinches feeding around mature gardens on Castle Street (top of Nelson Street) at 10am. (Francis Steuck).

Tuffley     A male Siskin singing at 7:50am, a garden first. Also two Greenfinches, four Goldfinches and c6 House Sparrows. (Ian Elphick). A female Brambling and two Siskins in the garden. (Mark Hobson).

Winchcombe     A flock of 19 Siskins seen from the garden this morning, and a male on feeders this afternoon. (Peter Rodgers).

Quedgeley     Two Hawfinches in the garden this afternoon. (Paul Masters).

Stratton     Garden Birds today included a Hawfinch at 11:45am and six Yellowhammers. (Ken Cservenka).

Longlevens     Two Stock Doves dropped into the garden at 4pm. (Marian Carroll).

Burford (Oxfordshire)     A GREAT WHITE EGRET on flashes W of Burford early afternoon then it flew into Gloucestershire airspace and was lost to view over Barrington. (Keith Jennings).

Forest of Dean     A TREE PIPIT at Yew Tree Brake today. (Lewis Thomson).

Frampton     This morning at 8:25am two CATTLE EGRETS flew S along the canal and looked to drop into the 100-Acre. Also a Green Sandpiper at Splatt Bridge. (Gordon Hodgson). A White Wagtail dropped in with seven Pied Wagtails at Court Lake at 1:30pm. Also 150+ Sand Martins, a Swallow and a Mandarin. (Mark Dowie).

Upton St Leonards     Six Hawfinches in Upton Leonard’s Churchyard at 1pm. (Vanda Owen).

Hartpury     At Hartpury Perry Pear Centre pools at least six Snipe, 12 Teal, two Mute Swans, two Canada Geese, a Moorhen and a singing Chiffchaff. (Juliet Bailey).

Arlingham     A Red Kite at SO711116 flew fairly low directly over the orchards and Warth Lane from the E and headed W. (Paddy Doyle).

Frampton     From Splatt Bridge early morning a MERLIN, two Peregrines, five Redshanks, a Green Sandpiper, a pair of Mandarins and a pair of Pintails. (Gordon Hodgson). On the flashes early afternoon a pair of Avocets, a Spotted Redshank, two Lapwings and a drake Teal. (MK). Later an Avocet swimming on the Sailing Lake. (Neil Smart). At Parkend in Crown Lane SO613079 two Hawfinches, 11 Chaffinches, three Nuthatches, three Pied Wagtails and two Buzzards. At Nagshead five Jays, six Nuthatches, three Treecreeper, two Great Spotted Woodpeckers, two Mandarins, a Raven, two Grey Wagtails and two Buzzards. (John Fletcher).

Tewkesbury     At 12:30pm a singing Chiffchaff in the woods along the disused railway (now footpath) between Northway Lane and Morrisons supermarket on Ashchurch Road. (David Urwin). On Severn Ham two pairs of Mute Swans, six Mallards, two Cormorants flying over, a Grey Heron, two Curlews, three singing Skylarks, 62 Carrion Crows and at least one singing Reed Bunting. At Forthampton meadows a Buzzard and at least 250 Fieldfares in parkland trees. (Mike Smart).

Cirencester     A Hawfinch in the garden at Stratton this morning. (Ken Cservenka).

Cambridge     A Water Rail today in a small roadside ditch in Ryalls Lane. (Jeff Kirby).

Berkeley shore     Three Pied Wagtails, 32 Shelducks, a Chiffchaff, a Coal Tit, 12 Wigeon, three Mallards, nine Magpies, a Buzzard and three Redshanks. (Tom Weston-McClung).

Halmore     A female Brambling in the garden today, a garden first. (Chris Newton).

Forest of Dean     This morning a singing Chiffchaff at Forge Hill, Lydbrook, a Red Kite over the garden, a garden first, it circled around the Lydbrook valley for several hours around lunchtime. A second Red Kite joined it at 5pm. Also a Goshawk circled a couple of times before heading towards Symonds Yat and three Buzzards. (Chris Sullivan). From New Fancy View two possibly three Goshawks, two Ravens and a Red Admiral. At Woorgreens lake three Goosanders and two Little Grebes. At Crabtree Hill two Stonechats, several Crossbills heard and one seen flying overhead and more Crossbills heard at Horse Lawn car park. (Robin Griffiths).

Symonds Yat     Two Goshawks at 3pm. (Richard Walker).

Little Barrington     A SWALLOW this afternoon off the A40 opposite the Barrington Filling Station. Also four Skylarks. (Mike Cook).

Painswick Beacon     Migration watch from 7:30am to 1:15pm, highlights six Sparrowhawks N, 52 Buzzards NE, a male RING OUZEL N at 8:10am, 37 Fieldfares, 101 Meadow Pipits, five Reed Buntings and 92 Linnets N, 428 Chaffinches, a Brambling and two Hawfinches E. (John Fleming).

Frampton     A WHIMBREL over Court field then headed towards river, also 24 Pochards, a Shelduck, a pair of Oystercatcher, two singing Chiffchaffs and the male Mandarin still displaying to Mallards. (Nick Goatman).

Sharpness     An adult Mediterranean Gull in field on left before dock entrance this morning. Also a Green Sandpiper in flight by the sewage works and a male Wheatear. (Andy Jordan).

Cleeve Hill     Between West Down car park and the trig point on the Common two Ravens, a Sparrowhawk over S, a mixed flock of 50 Linnets and Yellowhammers, 20 Starlings and a Kestrel seen on the approach road S of the car park. (Keith White).

Ashleworth Ham     From Meerend Thicket Hide SO82802639 birds included an Egyptian Goose, a Little Egret, 12 Snipe, two Oystercatchers, two Shelduck, 240 Wigeon, 183 Teal, 38 Shovelers, 16 Pintails, 13 Tufted Duck and 28 Coots. In the garden at Ashleworth a  Siskin, two Reed Buntings and a Brambling. (Richard Humphrey).

Highnam Woods     From 11:30am-2:15pm birds included a Chiffchaff singing, five Marsh Tits, three Goldcrests, two Song Thrushes, a Mistle Thrush, two Great Spotted Woodpeckers, three Jays, three Buzzards, a male Kestrel and two Ravens. Also 13 Brimstone butterflies. (John Fletcher).

Hidcote     A Red Kite seen regularly hunting over the farmland around Hidcote Garden (NT), again today at 4pm. (Stephen Grundy).

Tirley     A singing Chiffchaff briefly, a singing Blackcap and a Red Kite over at 3:30pm. (Mark Grieve).

Sunhill     A Red Kite today. (Mike Cook).

Bussage     In the garden early this morning three Bullfinches (1m, 2f), a Green Woodpecker  and a flock of 12 Siskins high in a Sycamore tree. A Pipistrelle at 7:15 this evening. (Mike Cook).

Cotswold Water Park West     The drake RING-NECKED DUCK back on Pit 16 this evening. Also an adult Mediterranean Gull and four Sand Martins. A Barn Owl and two Egyptian Geese at Shorncote Reedbed. (Graham Lawlor).

Frampton     At Court Lake four CATTLE EGRETS flew across the lake from the W and then beyond the reedbed at 6:20pm. (Paul Rich).

Lydney Harbour     The GLOSSY IBIS up against the fence of the sewage works at 8:30am and a female Sparrowhawk through. (Steve Brown/Martin Russell). Also a Grey Heron, two Greylags, a Buzzard, a Wren, six Red-legged Partridges, two Ravens and eight Pheasants. (Martin Russell). Pic by Martin.

Symonds Yat     From the viewpoint today the Peregrine pair seen mating and an intruding Peregrine, two Goshawks, a female Sparrowhawk, five Buzzards, Ravens with fledged young, five Buzzards, two Jays, a Song Thrush, a Green Woodpecker, two Goosanders, two Marsh Tits, Long-tailed Tits, a pair of Stock Doves, c30 Redwings, a Treecreeper, a Grey Heron and three Mandarins (2m,1f). Also doe and buck Fallow Deer, two Bank Voles and a Red-tailed Bumble Bee. (Chris & Phil Andrews).

Cherington     Around Cherington Lake mid afternoon birds included male and female Bullfinch, two Goldcrests, a Nuthatch, a Marsh Tit, two Buzzards, two male Tufted Ducks and a Grey Heron. (John Fletcher).

Hucclecote     This morning garden birds included male and female Mallard, three Goldfinches, a Coal Tit, a female Blackcap and 20 House Sparrows. (Harold Smith).
