At Cannop Ponds two drake Mandarin. At Nagshead a Goshawk circling over the tree canopy and a Hawfinch in a big conifer at start of the Short Trail. At New Fancy View distant views of two Goshawks. Symonds Yat     From the Viewpoint today the Peregrine pair, three Goshawks, a Sparrowhawk, a Red Kite, six Buzzards, Ravens, a Song Thrush, two Treecreepers, a pair of Marsh Tits, two Stock Doves, a pair of Grey Wagtails, a Green Woodpecker calling, Long-tailed Tits, a Siskin and a Goldcrest. Sharpness     At the end of Dock Road a BLACK REDSTART on the small electricity sub-station at 1pm, then again in the vicinity including on nearby railway wagons. Also two Curlews upstream of the north pier. (Andy & Sue Gibbons).

Ashleworth Ham     This afternoon from the hide two Oystercatchers, a Curlew and two Redshanks. (Andy & Sue Gibbons).

WWT Slimbridge     75 Avocets and a Ringed Plover from Holden Tower, the Red-breasted Goose with 116 White-fronted Geese, a Peregrine that took a Teal off the Tack Piece, a singing Chiffchaff and a singing Cetti’s Warbler. (Graham Tompsett).

Cotswold Water Park East     A Barn Owl still hunting at 9:15am at Pit 104. (Duncan Dine).

Netheridge     A Barn Owl hunting at Netheridge Farm at 5:35pm viewed from the Hempsted bypass. (Mark Hobson).

Gloucester     A Hawfinch on the bird table again today in Barnwood Avenue (backing onto St Lawrence’s churchyard). Probably best looked for in the churchyard. (Rob Crofton). At Horsebere Brook Flood Storage Lake today birds included three Mute Swans, two Teal, 12 Mallards, a male Little Grebe seen and heard trilling, a Snipe and two female Reed Buntings. (Gordon Avery).

Great Barrington     Four Barn Owls hunting at dusk this evening between Barrington trig and the deer park. (Keith Jennings).

Cotswold Water Park West    Two Barn Owls hunting together at Shorncote reedbed at 4pm. (Roger Gillespie).

Tewkesbury     At Severn Ham the southern end of the meadow under water, with two Mute Swans swimming on the Ham, three Curlews, c12 Skylarks, five Pied Wagtails, a Grey Wagtail, a Raven over, 71 Carrion Crows and four Reed Buntings singing. At Forthampton a Curlew and 180 Fieldfares feeding on the ground. Forest of Dean     At Crabtree Hill the GREAT GREY SHRIKE still early morning, also two Reed Buntings and three Stonechats. At Woorgreens Lake eight Goosanders and two Little Grebes. Cotswold Water Park West     A GREAT WHITE EGRET in the quarry this morning. A MERLIN past the hide at the reedbeds this afternoon. (Dave Soons).

Frampton     A Barn Owl hunting at Splatt Bridge at 7am. On the flashes N of Splatt 32 Shelducks, 60 Curlews, two Snipe, two Redshanks, a Lapwing, a pair of Oystercatchers and a Little Egret. (MK).

Woodford, Berkeley     Several Skylarks singing, a drake Mandarin on floodwater with several Teal, a pair of Ravens, a Buzzard and three Little Egrets flying over. (Andrew Jones).

Coombe Hill Meadows      Birds included six Mute Swans, two Greylags, c500 Wigeon, c1000 Teal, c40 Pintails, c40 Shovelers, three Gadwalls, six Tufted Ducks, a pair of Oystercatchers, c300 Lapwings, four Golden Plovers, two Redshanks, 28 Ruffs, three Dunlins, 3-4 Curlews, a Great Spotted Woodpecker drumming and at least four singing Reed Buntings. Cobney Meadows     A pair of Mute Swans, 100 Wigeon, 700 Teal, ten Shovelers, ten Pintails and a Little Owl. Nearby two Curlews on the Severn above Malthouse Farm. (Mike Smart).

Saul Warth     A drake GARGANEY on the Warth from 9:45am until 2pm at least. Also 120 Pintails, 30 Shovelers, 22 Wigeon, 260 Teal, 11 Redshanks and a Ruff (Gordon Hodgson). This afternoon 17 Black-tailed Godwits, five Dunlins, two Lapwings and a singing male Bullfinch. (MK). Best way to view: Park safely at Cadbury Bridge and walk c100yds towards Arlingham, take the public footpath on the left. Walk up to the 5-bar gate, cross the field diagonally to your right. View from the stile. Don’t walk out onto the sea wall or all the duck will flush.

Cotswold Water Park West     A GREAT WHITE EGRET dropped into Shorncote Reedbed at 2:30pm but stayed only very briefly. (Martin Greenish). At 3:20pm a BITTERN flew SE across the lake passing close to the hide in the direction of the first hide. Also a Barn Owl showed for one pass in the field behind the sewage works, a Little Egret, five Grey Herons, eight Shovelers, two Gadwalls, 12 Teal, a Goldcrest, two Chiffchaff and a Cetti’s Warbler. Leckhampton Hill     At Hartley Farm a Brambling with 30 Chaffinches, also 50 Fieldfares.  The farmer reported about 10 Bramblings on Friday. (Steve Brown).

Charlton Kings Common     Four Buzzards, a Raven, two Jays, a Stock Dove, a Great Spotted Woodpecker drumming and a Nuthatch. (Steve Brown).

Longney     Four Whooper Swans flew N from the Crib towards Rodley and a Greenshank flew N. Also a Black-tailed Godwit opposite with the Lapwings. (Jeremy Squire).

Wotton-Under-Edge     Three garden Hawfinches and a Brambling today, a garden first. (Morag Hughes).

Forest of Dean     At Church Hill, Lydbrook 10+ Wrens sharing one box of a communal sparrow terrace to keep warm in the snow. (Phil Hicks).

Sharpness     A BLACK REDSTART still at the end of Dock Road at 9:30am and a Common Sandpiper around the picnic site/pier. (Paul Taylor).

Saul Warth     The WATER PIPIT still near Hock Ditch this morning at high tide also 2-3 Rock Pipits, a Peregrine, six Snipe, seven Curlews, c50 Lapwings, c40 Dunlins and a few Redshanks. (Seb Buckton).

Newnham-on-Severn     From the riverside car park at 6pm a Barn Owl flying upstream along the river’s edge then crossing the river in the direction of Arlingham. (Ann Harris).

Berkeley     At Berkeley shore two Ruff just south of the power station. Also 11 Golden Plovers, three Stonechats (2 males) and a Peregrine this morning. (Paul Taylor). A Treecreeper in a willow tree alongside the Little Avon by the hunt kennels. ( Andrew Jones).

Tewkesbury      On Severn Ham a Curlew, three Snipe around the pools, a Lapwing, eight Teal and ten Mallards along the Mill Avon, a Skylark singing, ten Pied Wagtails, 138 Fieldfares and 67 Carrion Crows feeding on the ground. (Mike Smart).

Arlingham     A Great Black-backed Gull and a female Stonechat this morning. (Seb Buckton).

Stonehouse     From Bridgend to Bonds Mill to Stanley Downton along the canal and River Frome birds included a Kingfisher, a Grey Heron, five Bullfinches (3m, 2f), eight Cormorants, five Buzzards, a female SparrowHawk, a Snipe and two Little Grebes today. (Paul Sutton).

Bishops Cleeve     A male Sparrowhawk in front gardens of Sandown Road at 3pm today. (Dave Jeynes).

Arlingham     A female MERLIN on an Orchard hedge along Warth Lane at SO710117. A Barn Owl hunting at SO711116. A Little Owl at SO710118 in the eastern Orchard in a tree halfway down the hedge line, also a Grey Heron and 18 Redwings. (Paddy Doyle).
