WWT Slimbridge     The LAPLAND BUNTING again on the Dumbles this afternoon viewed from Holden Tower but distant. (Ian Hayes).

Stow-on-the-Wold     The BLUE ROCK THRUSH of unknown origin still present today in Maugersbury Park and surrounding streets. It has only been seen for an hour in Fisher Close in the last few days and Maugersbury Park is more likely. Strictly no parking in Fisher Close, there is a public car park near the Bell pub 5 minutes walk away or find alternative parking in the town. Please show the residents respect and as much privacy as is possible. There will be a collection for Kate’s Home Nursing  please give generously on site or on-line. (Ian Hayes).

Cotswolds     A Green Sandpiper at Daglingworth, 15 Bramblings at Perrot’s Brook and seven Corn Buntings at Chapman’s Cross today. (Duncan Dine/Martin Wright).

Sharpness     A wintering Common Sandpiper by the River Severn on the mud banks past the NedWest building at the end of Dock Road late afternoon. (Christopher Teague).

Brimpsfield     Eight Ravens on roadkill today. (Mark Grieve).

Ashley     A garden Coal Tit and a Moorhen, also two Mistle Thrushes, a male Sparrowhawk hunting game cover and a large mixed flock of at least 800+ Fieldfares, Redwings and Starlings on pasture. (Mark Grieve).

Cheltenham    At Naunton Park a garden Stock Dove again, two Ravens over SW, three Long-tailed Tits and four Common Gulls on the playing field. (Steve Brown).

Upham Meadow, Twyning     Three Mute Swans, 170 Canada Geese, 20 Mallards, a Grey Heron, two Buzzards, a Green Sandpiper on the bank of the Avon at Millend, a Skylark singing, a flock of 50 Meadow Pipits and 18 Pied Wagtails and a Reed Bunting singing. (Mike Smart).

Ashleworth Ham     From GWT hide at Meerend Thicket birds today included 270 Canada Geese, five Lapwings, 13 Snipe, 60 Teal, a pair of Gadwall, a Shelduck, 20 Mallards, six Tufted Ducks, 14 Wigeon, four Pintails and six Shovelers. Also two Nuthatches, nine Long-tailed Tits and a male Sparrowhawk. (John Fletcher).

Gloucester    At Port Ham late afternoon a big roost of at least 98 Reed Buntings. Also a probable Siberian Chiffchaff with three Chiffchaffs, a Cetti’s Warbler, a pair of Stonechats and a Sparrowhawk. (Andy Jayne).

Cotswold Water Park West     Today at Shorncote Reedbed 11 Little Egrets, two Water Rail, five Chiffchaffs and a Stonechat. On Pit 44 121 Red Crested Pochards (77 drakes) and 15 Goosanders (8 drake). (Nigel Pleass).

Ashley     320+ Fieldfares, 40+ Redwings, four Stock Doves, 15+ Skylarks, 45+ Chaffinches, 100+ Linnets, a Kestrel, 6+ Reed Buntings, three Bullfinches and a Roe Deer. (Mark Grieve).

Saul     Three CATTLE EGRETS in horse paddocks on road to Arlingham after Cadbury bridge SO744085 at 9am today. (Mark Hobson).

Beachley Point    Three Oystercatchers, two WHIMBRELS, two Curlews, eight Redshanks, 24 Lapwings and c70 Dunlins today. (Dave & Vanda Owen).

Purton     At the Timber Ponds two Chiffchaffs and a Kingfisher today. Also 126 Pintails, c1000 Wigeon and c100 Dunlin. (Paul Taylor).

Frampton     At the pools two GREAT WHITE EGRETS, two Little Egrets, three Grey Herons, 80 Tufted Ducks, 35 Gadwall, 13 Pochards, three Shovelers, eight Great Crested Grebes, a Little Grebe and 30+ Lapwings today. (Nick Goatman). Four Green Sandpipers on the reed bed N of Splatt Bridge and a pair of Stonechats. (Paul Masters).

Stonehouse     Along the canal near St Cyr’s church a Buzzard and a Kingfisher. A Little Grebe near Bonds mill and a male Sparrowhawk. At Stanley Downton a male Sparrowhawk and three Cormorants. (Paul Sutton).

Walmore Common     This morning five Bewick’s Swans (1 juv) were joined by two adult WHOOPER SWANS later in the day. Also an Egyptian Goose and good numbers of dabbling duck including 100 Pintails. Nearby, another two adult Bewick’s Swans were at Wilmer flood at Rodley. (Andy Jayne).

Sharpness     Two BLACK REDSTARTS, one along Dock Road and one on Severn View Road by the picnic site. Also a Cetti’s Warbler. (Andy Jordan).

Frampton     The GREAT WHITE EGRET still on Court Lake late afternoon, also a Grey Wagtail, a Little Owl and a Tawny Owl. (Nick Goatman).

Forest of Dean     At Crabtree Hill the GREAT GREY SHRIKE showed well eating a beetle, also a Mistle Thrush, Crossbills, Ravens and a mixed Siskin and Lesser Redpoll flock. At Cannop Ponds at least two pairs of Mandarins and a Raven gathering nesting material. (Ivan Sansom). Coombe Hill Meadows     The first Curlew of the year today, a Black-tailed Godwit, 340 Lapwings, three Mute Swans, 20 Canada Geese, a Shelduck, 1040 Wigeon, 1000+ Teal, 40 Mallards, 48 Pintails (29m, 19f), 20 Shovelers and 16 Pied Wagtails. (Mike Smart).

Ashleworth Ham     Two Mute Swans, 175 Canada Geese, four Greylags, 1 Shelduck, 130 Wigeon, 800 Teal, 45 Mallards, a Pintail, two Shovelers, three Tufted Ducks, a Lapwing, two Nuthatches and a Goldcrest. (Les Brown).

WWT Slimbridge     At 10:30am a Goshawk took a Teal and flew with it to the right of the Zeiss hide, mobbed by two Ravens. Also the Little Stint still on the Rushy Pen, and 12 Ruff on South Lake. Twyning     Two GREAT WHITE EGRETS flew towards Church End this morning. (Sarah Loaring).

Hawling     At Larkhill Farm a female/juv MERLIN, 300 Golden Plovers, 200 Lapwings, 15 Corn Buntings, ten Yellowhammers and a Brambling with 200 Linnets today. (Terry Fenton).

Forest of Dean     At least six Goosander on Woorgreens Lake, the GREAT GREY SHRIKE still on Crabtree Hill, 12-13 Mandarins at Cannop Ponds on a small pool on the other side of the cycle path from the main lake and a Hawfinch at Parkend, several reported earlier. (Adrienne Sanders). At 10am a Red Kite over fields between Pleasant Stile and Blaize Bailey. At 12:15pm c1000 Redwings chattering in the trees at Blaize Bailey for 15 minutes, then dispersed. Saul     Four CATTLE EGRETS and 16 Little Egrets in horse paddocks this morning. (Roy Widgery).

Priors Norton     Four Little Egrets in a field alongside the A38, opposite the northern access road to Priors Norton. (Adrienne Sanders).

Hawling     A mixed finch flock of 250+ birds including two possible Twite, Bramblings, Linnets and Chaffinches at SP066222 near Larkhill Farm. Please view only from the road and do not enter the fields. (Bob Fryer).

Nettleton Bottom     A Red Kite at 3pm. (Mark Grieve).

Nailsworth     At Ruskin Mill a Little Egret, two Little Grebes, two Grey Wagtails, two Grey Herons and a Goldcrest. (Keith & Lyn Perkins).

Frampton pools     Two CATTLE EGRETS, a GREAT WHITE  EGRET, 22 Little Egrets, two Goldeneye, nine Pochards, 109 Tufted Ducks, 40 Gadwalls, 20+ Siskins and a Lesser Redpoll. (Nick Goatman).

Cotswold Water Park     A Pit 44 ten Goosanders and 125+ Red Crested Pochards. (Steve Brown).

Harnhill     Ten Grey Partridges flushed near the crossroads just W of the village landed in the stubble field S of the no-through road. (Steve Brown).

Coombe Hill Meadows     Birds today included a Sparrowhawk, a Stonechat, a Great Spotted Woodpecker drumming, two Water Rails (one seen, another heard), two Greenfinches, a Bullfinch, 12+ Fieldfares and three Redwings. Also a Weasel, and a black Mink both near boardwalk that leads into field/Long Pool hide. Quedgeley     At Shelduck Road this morning a male Sparrowhawk caught and quickly dispatched a female Blackbird in garden at 11:30am. (Steve Pullen).

Bussage     At Frithwood 30+ Chaffinches, three Siskins, two Jays, six Wrens, a Mistle Thrush, a Great Spotted Woodpecker and a Green Woodpecker in the cemetery opposite. On the garden feeders a Lesser Redpoll, 12 Goldfinches, five Siskins, a male Blackcap and a female Bullfinch. In an adjacent garden on Cotoneaster and Sorbus three WAXWINGS early afternoon, seven Redwings, a Fieldfare and 14 Blackbirds. Arlingham     The RICHARD’S PIPIT still this afternoon at 4:30pm in the field S of the mistletoe-covered hawthorn, at cSO715120. (Colin Greenfield).

Symonds Yat     From Yat Rock the Peregrine pair and an intruding Peregrine, two Goshawks, a male Sparrowhawk, six Buzzards, a Tawny Owl, a Grey Heron, the resident Raven pair, a Great Spotted Woodpecker, a Green Woodpecker, a Goldcrest, Long-tailed Tits, a pair of Goosanders, two Stock Doves and 11 Fallow Deer.
