Gloucester     A MELODIOUS WARBLER reported in St Lawrence Churchyard, Barnwood at 8am, in the area of large oak trees backing onto Barnwood Avenue, seen briefly on and off for 10 minutes. (Rob Crofton). No sign in subsequent searches or in the (busy) Arboretum across the road.

Cleeve Hill     From the Bill Smylie and Mast reserves today a Great Spotted Woodpecker, a juvenile Kestrel, Buzzards, a Yellowhammer, Ravens and a Marsh Tit. Other sightings included Small Tortoiseshell, Red Admiral, Brown Argus, Common Blue, Chalk Hill Blue, Meadow Brown, Large and Small White and Small Heath butterflies, Silver Y Moths and Common Lizards. Longney     At the old orchards this afternoon a Little Owl, a Peregrine, five Buzzards, a Red Kite, a female Kestrel, five Chiffchaffs, a female Great Spotted Woodpecker, a Green Woodpecker heard, 13 House Sparrows and 25+ House Martins. (John Fletcher).

Hardwicke     Four Redstarts including a male near Clarke’s Farm. Also two Willow Warblers, four Chiffchaffs, two Blackcaps, a Whitethroat, 30 House Sparrows, a Raven and in a horse paddock 14 Pied Wagtails. (Paul Masters).

Coaley     On Coaley church a Peregrine today, it seems to be a regular visitor to the church. Its ring was checked and it was ringed on the 26th May 2011 at Sharpness Docks, it has also been seen in Pembroke in 2016. (Josh Adamms).

Purton    A GREAT SKUA flew around Tites Point heading towards Slimbridge at 4:15pm, then sat on the river off of Tites Point at 5pm, then flew downriver at 5:16pm. (Richard Hearn). A Curlew Sandpiper feeding around the N end of the Ships Graveyard. Also 58 Ringed Plovers, a juvenile Sanderling, 19 Dunlins, two Greenshanks and seven Black-tailed Godwits. Also a SHAG (presumably the Sharpness bird), a Tree Pipit, three Grey Wagtails, three Garden Warblers, 400 House Martins, 200 Sand Martins and 75 Swallows. (Francis Steuck).

Upper Swell    A Little Egret fishing in the River Dikler upstream of the road bridge at Upper Swell at 2pm today. (Harvey Sherwood).

Ashleworth Ham     This evening birds included four Teal, 37 Mallards, two Gadwalls, a Shelduck, a Shoveler, two Mute Swans, a Greylag, two Grey Herons, a Little Egret, two Stock Doves, 51+ House Martins, a Sand Martin and a Chiffchaff. Also a Roe Deer. (John Fletcher).

WWT Slimbridge     Seven ARCTIC SKUAS, five dark and two pale phase, off of Mid Point this morning at 7:30am. They eventually all flew down channel toward Purton. Also 30 Common Terns moved through. (Martin McGill).

Awre   At 11:45am four ARCTIC SKUAS and a juvenile Arctic Tern flying down river, and a GREAT SKUA and six Commic Terns went up river. At 12:30pm we had four ARCTIC SKUAS going down river, possibly different. Also four Swifts and two Bar-tailed Godwits in flight with a flock of Curlews. (John & Viv Phillips). Saul Warth     This morning three Crossbills grounded in a hedge at 9:15am, tried to fly S but got swept towards the pools. A Wood Sandpiper flew in for a bath on one of the newly formed pools at 9:30am then flew off N calling. Also a Little Egret, a Bar-tailed Godwit, three Black-tailed Godwits, 20 Ringed Plovers, 60+ Curlews, six distant Knot including a red adult, 2+ Meadow Pipits and three Yellow Wagtails. (MK).
