Also a Snipe, two Curlew, five Oystercatchers, four Green Sandpipers, seven Little Egrets, three Grey Herons, six Teal, two Wigeon, a Tufted Duck with six ducklings, four Little Grebes (3 ads, 1 juv), a Kingfisher, a pair of Yellowhammers from the towpath and five singing Sedge Warblers. WWT Slimbridge     A possible Night Heron flew past South Lake towards at 10:50am South Finger, but not yet relocated. (John Budd).

Frampton pools     This evening a Hobby, a Great White Egret, a Yellow-legged Gull, a Green Sandpiper, 110 Mute Swans, 94 Barnacle Geese, 64 Greylags, 16 Canada Geese, five adult Common Terns and five young, an Oystercatcher and 16 Pied Wagtails. (Nick Goatman).

Forest of Dean     At the top of May Hill by the pines this morning seven Linnets, a family of five Redstarts and also a family of four Stonechats. (Rob Guest).

Hasfield Ham     This afternoon four Red Kites following the mowers with at least 50 Lesser Black-backed Gulls. ((Ian Hull).

Stinchcombe Hill     Two Spotted Flycatchers this evening and at least 30 Swifts hunting over the woods above Dursley. (James Robinson).

Symonds Yat     From Yat Rock viewpoint today the resident Peregrine pair and another Peregrine on Great Doward Hill nearby, a Red Kite, a Hobby, a male Sparrowhawk, Buzzards, two Ravens, Swallows, Swifts, House Martins and Sand Martins, Chiffchaffs, a Kingfisher, a female Goosander with seven young, Stock Doves and nine Mandarins. Other sightings included a Bank Vole, a Wood Mouse, Fallow Deer, Hornets, Rose Chafers, Hummingbird Hawkmoths, a Speckled Bush Cricket, a White-legged Damselfly, Speckled Wood, Ringlet, Meadow Brown, Red Admiral and Painted Lady butterflies. Cheltenham     No sign of the Pittville Park Night Heron today. At Pittville Lawn a Blackcap calling for at least an hour around 7am and a distant Goldcrest heard. (Howard Taylor).

Frampton     Between Cadbury Bridge and Splatt Bridge two Little Egrets, two Common Terns, a pair of Mute Swans with four cygnets, two Cormorants, a Kestrel, three Buzzards, a Great Spotted Woodpecker, three Swifts, five Chiffchaffs, a male Blackcap, a Curlew heard and a Marbled White. (MK).

Maisemore     Along Church Road near and around the pool and to the weir on the Severn this afternoon birds included the two released male Wood Ducks, the male Red Crested Pochard of origin unknown, two Mute Swans still sitting on a nest, 23 Mallards, four Tufted Ducks (2m, 2f), a pair of Kingfishers fishing, three Green Woodpeckers, four Blackcaps, five Goldfinches, a male Bullfinch, five Greenfinches, a Treecreeper, 11 Swifts, four House Martins, a Sparrowhawk and a Buzzard. Cheltenham     The adult NIGHT HERON flew in to the island of the boating lake at Pittville Park at SO 94920 23492 at 5:05am, then showed well fishing along the island edge until 6am at least. It was then seen on and off, sometimes well, until 12:30pm. It reappeared at 8:20pm. (Paul Masters et al). Bredons Hardwick, Worcs    This evening a GLOSSY IBIS, found by Dave Evans early in the day in S Worcs. It circled over Bredons Hardwick on the Worcs bank, then headed E into Glos, flying high over the Mythe, very probably moving to Ripple Lake where it may have roosted. (Mike Smart).

Tewkesbury    This morning an adult male Peregrine sitting on the tower of the Abbey. (Mike Smart).

Forest of Dean     At Nagshead, a juvenile female Goshawk calling from conifers then chased off by crows. A Marsh Tit and a Great Spotted Woodpecker both feeding fledglings. At Wenchford a family party of Grey Wagtails today. (Steve Brown).

WWT Slimbridge     No confirmed sightings of the Little Bustard on the Dumbles since Wednesday evening despite a report to the contrary. It could still be present in the long grass but is looking unlikely.

Coombe Hill Meadows     13 Mute Swans, a Greylag, a pair of Canada Geese with five goslings, two Shelducks, nine Gadwalls, four Shovelers, three pairs of Tufted Ducks, two Little Egrets, a Grey Heron, at least three Little Grebes (two immatures and an adult seen probably a second whinnying), a pair of Coot with six chicks and another adult incubating, 12 Lapwings including two full-grown chicks, 1-2 Green Sandpipers, a Curlew, still song from Sedge Warbler, Blackcap, Whitethroat, Willow Warbler, Chiffchaff and Reed Bunting. Tewkesbury     On the Severn below Lower Lode a Cormorant, a Common Sandpiper, 2-3 Sand Martins around the colony, a Cuckoo singing, a Redstart, a Lesser Whitethroat still singing and several singing Reed Buntings. (Mike Smart).

Frampton     Early morning a the Sailing Lake a Green Sandpiper, a Yellow-legged Gull, five Common Terns, 20+ Swifts, five Sand Martins, a Curlew, 12 Pied Wagtails (10 juvs) and a Grey Wagtail. (Nick Goatman).

Edge     At Rudge Hill NNR this afternoon seven Meadow Pipits (4 juvs), two Willow Warblers and two Stock Doves over. (John Fletcher).

Brockworth     At least 90 Swifts hawking over oil-seed rape this evening at Henley Bank. (Terry Fenton).

Cheltenham     Over last 11 days Sparrowhawk visits and four confirmed kills at Hesters Way, the most recent at 9:30pm today. (Selwyn Ballinger).

Highnam Woods    At least four Spotted Flycatchers, a male Bullfinch, three Great Spotted Woodpecker, two Buzzards, a Hobby heard calling and Marsh Tit, Treecreeper and Nuthatch fledglings seen. (Jonathan Bull).

WWT Slimbridge     No reported sightings of the Little Bustard on the Dumbles today. It has become more and more elusive and distant each day but with the length of the grass it is not necessarily gone.

Park in the large free car park at SO931154 then walk back towards the Air Balloon Inn until you come to a phonebox, very carefully cross the busy A417 at SO933157 to the cycle path marked with a blue sign. Walk past Four Winds house on your left and the paddock is on your right. 

WWT Slimbridge     The LITTLE BUSTARD remained hidden in the long grass on the Dumbles again and was seen a couple of times up to 11am. Just seen again at 7:30pm. WWT Slimbridge     The LITTLE BUSTARD remained hidden in the long grass on the Dumbles today in poor weather conditions until 3pm when it was refound. It was present until 6:15pm at least. Patience and a scope are recommended. Also a pair of Curlews with four juveniles on the Dumbles and an eclipse drake Garganey on the Rushy earlier today.  (Slimbridge Sightings).
