Frampton-on-Severn     At Byres Water pond behind St Mary’s church birds included four Mandarins (3m, 1f), a Little Grebe, 15 Reed Buntings on feeders, a pair of Greylags, a Barn Owl quartering the orchard and graveyard, four Little Owls and three Green Woodpeckers anting around the pond. Coombe Hill Meadows     Birds included a Great Crested Grebe, a pair of Mute Swans, a pair of Greylags, 30 Canada Geese, 300 Wigeon, 100 Teal, eight Gadwalls, 15 Mallards, three Pintails, 60 Shovelers, eight Tufted Ducks, a Grey Heron, an immature male Peregrine, ten Coots, a pair of Oystercatchers, 11 Lapwings, four Redshanks, a Chiffchaff and four singing Reed Buntings. Ashleworth & Hasfield Hams     Two Mute Swans, five Greylags, 30 Canada Geese, 100 Wigeon, ten Gadwalls, 147 Teal, 20 Mallards, six Pintails, 50 Shovelers, ten Tufted Ducks, ten Coots, two Oystercatchers, 12 Lapwings, 1 or 2 Skylarks and a Reed Bunting. Another Great White Egret on Pit 41. (Duncan Dine). On the County border at Wickwater Farm this morning at first light eight Swallows stayed around for about an hour then moved on. Ashleworth Ham     Late afternoon until dark birds included an adult female Peregrine plucking a kill, 25 Shovelers, a Little Grebe, 18 Snipe, two Mute Swans, seven Greylags, 22 Canada Geese, seven Tufted Ducks (6m, 1f), three Pintails (2m, 1f), 35 Wigeon, 29 Teal, four Mallards, a male Gadwall, five Lapwings, 15 Coots, three Moorhens, a Grey Heron, a Sand Martin over and a Curlew calling briefly. Gloucester     A YELLOW-BROWED WARBLER at Alney Island mid-afternoon today. Presumably the same bird that was seen 2 months ago on 12th January, it was quite easy to follow as it moved around the leafless trees near the Lock House at SO823183 and was calling occasionally. Coombe Hill Meadows     Early morning birds included two Mute Swans, 43 Canada Geese, two Shelducks, 350 Wigeon, 160 Teal, 15 Mallards, five Gadwalls, 53 Shovelers, four Pintails, 12 Tufted Ducks, a Cormorant, two Grey Herons, four Oystercatchers, five Lapwings, 17 Curlews, a Redshank, 40 Fieldfares and 2-3 Reed Buntings. Symonds Yat     From Yat Rock viewpoint, the Peregrine pair were sat in a tree and a pair of Canada Geese occupied a large hollow high on the cliff face, with a third bird nearby. (Pete & Marjo Lewis).

Upleadon     This afternoon by the entrance to GWT Collin Park Wood, a Jay seen sat up in a tree mimicking the call of a Buzzard. In the wood a Treecreeper seen and several Nuthatches heard, also a Great Spotted Woodpecker drumming. (Andy & Sue Gibbons).

Longney     At the old orchards, and a short stretch along Severn Way this afternoon birds included three Chiffchaffs, two Grey Partridges, 35 Fieldfare, 20+ Goldfinches, a female Stonechat, a Reed Bunting, 29 House Sparrows, a Green Woodpecker calling, four Greenfinches, two Cormorants and five Buzzards. Ashleworth Ham     This evening 17 Greylags, eight Canada Geese, 35 Wigeon, four Gadwall, 31 Teal, eight Pintails, 24 Shovelers, four Tufted Ducks, seven Coots, an Oystercatcher and a Curlew heard. (Mike Smart).

Highnam Woods     This afternoon birds included six Marsh Tits, three Great Spotted Woodpeckers, five Coal Tits, four Nuthatches, a Goldcrest, a Raven, two Goldfinches, three Buzzards, two Jays, five Long-tailed Tits and a Song Thrush. (John Fletcher).

Cheltenham    At the football ground this afternoon at 3:45pm, two Red-legged Partridges flew low across the corner of the ground, possibly landing in an overgrown grassy area just outside the ground. (David Norman).

Symonds Yat     From Yat Rock viewpoint today the Peregrine pair and an intruding Peregrine, three Goshawks, a Kestrel, a male and female Sparrowhawk, a Red Kite, eight Buzzards, Ravens, two Stock Doves, a pair of Kingfishers, two Crossbills, Long-tailed Tits, a Green Woodpecker, a Siskin, a pair of Goosanders, a pair of Mandarins and a calling Tawny Owl. Coombe Hill Meadows     This morning four Mute Swans, 20 Canada Geese, four Shelducks, 200 Wigeon, five Gadwalls, 50 Teal, three Pintails, 40 Shovelers, four Tufted Ducks, a Little Grebe, two Coots, four Oystercatchers, eight Lapwings, 20 Curlews, a Black-tailed Godwit (Icelandic bird in full summer plumage), a Redshank and 3-4 singing Reed Buntings. Also an OTTER walked across the towpath by the footbridge across the Parish Drain, then swam off along the canal. Westbury-on-Severn      The YELLOW-BROWED WARBLER still at the sewage works today showing well in the spruce. There’s practically no parking near the sewage works and it would be best to park in Westbury and take the footpath through the churchyard towards Westbury Strand.  You can see the sewage works from a distance, it’s surrounded by a conifer screen. Tewkesbury     On Mitton meadows 45 Wigeon, 120 Teal and five Lapwings today. (Mike Smart).

North Cotswolds   c200 Golden Plovers over the trig point near the Barringtons also a Peregrine, a Raven. 12+ Yellowhammers, 20+ Meadow Pipits and four Red Kites. Along the path from the trig point in the copse was a mixed flock of tits and Chaffinches, more than 50 birds sheltering from the wind. Sherborne     On the Broadwater, c60 ducks, including Tufted Ducks, Teal, Wigeon, Pochard and Mallards and two Little Egrets. (Chris Snook).

Cirencester     Between Cirencester and Aldsworth via Quenington four Buzzards, 16 Red Kites and six Red-legged Partridges. (Chris Snook).
