WWT Slimbridge     The GLOSSY IBIS was found roosting on South Lake at 9:30am (Roberta Goodall) but by 9:45am it had flown N and remained elusive throughout the day. However it returned to roost on South Lake again this afternoon. (Neil Smart). Forest of Dean     Six Hawfinches at Parkend in Crown Lane this morning. The ringed Hawfinch in the picture was ringed near Parkend on 11 April 2017. Arlingham     The RICHARD’S PIPIT still today at midday in the field with the little hawthorn tree by the river’s edge at SO718118. It also gets in the surrounding fields but doesn’t move far. Also a Little Egret and a Stonechat. Park sensibly in Arlingham village. Take the public footpath on the left after Slowwe House (don’t take the Silver Street Project trail). Follow the footpath across the fields until you reach a farmyard (with Alpacas). Go up onto the seawall and follow the Severn Way downriver towards the bird. Arlingham     The RICHARD’S PIPIT still this morning in the small field with the little hawthorn tree by the river’s edge at SO718118.  It also gets in the surrounding fields but doesn’t move far. Park sensibly in Arlingham village. Take the public footpath on the left after Slowwe House (don’t take the Silver Street Project trail). Follow the footpath across the fields until you reach a farmyard (with Alpacas). Harnhill     The Great Bustard seen on the ground and in flight at 8:15am around SP063002, presumably from the Salisbury Plain introduction scheme. Symonds Yat     In the Yat Rock Area today the Peregrine pair, a Goshawk, a Sparrowhawk, Buzzards, Ravens, a Treecreeper, a Goldcrest, a Great Spotted Woodpecker, a Green Woodpecker, a pair of Mandarins, a Stock Dove, two Marsh Tits, a Fieldfare and a pair of Mistle Thrushes. Winstone     In the Winstone area two Stock Doves, five Buzzards, 12 Bullfinches, a Great Spotted Woodpecker, a Jay, 12+ Yellowhammers and five Roe Deer. (Mark Grieve).

Cotswold Water Park West     The adult RING-NECKED DUCK again today on Pit 31 until 3pm at least. On Cokes Pit (Pit 34) four Egyptian Geese, four Red Crested Pochards, two Great Crested Grebes and three Goosanders (2m), also on Pit 44 three Goosanders and c15 Red Crested Pochards. (Gordon & Margaret Avery/Martin Greenish/David & Gillian Smith). At Shorncote the GREAT WHITE EGRET SSW of the hides further along the path on the far side of a large newly dug gravel pit. (Les Ditchburn).

Gloucester     The PENDULINE TIT at Plock Court, Longford still today at SO837204 until at least 12:30pm when flushed from the ponds by dogs. (Jim Northcott/Jonny T). A Barn Owl over Alney Island Nature Reserve at 7am this morning. (Nat Roberts).

Cotswold Water Park West     The adult RING-NECKED DUCK relocated on Pit 32 and later on Pit 31 until 2:45pm at least. (Nigel Pleass). Sharpness     The GREAT NORTHERN DIVER still on the SARA pool today. For birders visiting for the Diver, the bird is also being regularly seen in the ‘marina’ area. Coombe Hill Meadows     Birds included c100 Greylags, 300 Canada Geese, a Barnacle Goose, c2000 Wigeon, up to 1000 Teal, 20 Mallards, 161+ Pintails, 22+ Shovelers, four Tufted Ducks, a Grey Heron, 35 Coots and 400+ Lapwings. (Mike Smart).

Leckhampton Hill     A male Brambling with the dispersed and restless Chaffinch flock at Hartley Farm this morning. Also singing Skylarks over adjacent cereal fields. (Robert Homan).

Duntisbourne Leer     A male MERLIN successfully chasing a large flock of mixed finches near the Duntisbourne Leer turning, off Jackbarrow Road at noon today. (Michael Cook).

Hardwicke     A Barn Owl quartering waste land at Quadrant Way at 4:45pm and a Kingfisher visited the balancing pond in Newhaven Road adjacent to Quedgeley Asda at 1:30pm where there was also a Chiffchaff, two male Blackcaps and several Pied Wagtails. (Michael Cook).

Cotswold Water Park West     On  Pit 44, 14 Red Crested Pochards (10m, 4f), on Pit 65 a male Goosander, on Pit 57 a pair of Goldeneyes and 112 Wigeon, on Pit 31 five Goosanders (3m), a Green Sandpiper over towards Pit 87, on Pit 32 a male Goosander and at Pit 87, 30+ Teal flew out. (MK).

Harnhill     A Great Bustard with a blue ring on its right leg, presumably from the Salisbury Plain introduction scheme at first in a field at SP062003. It flew to the field on the opposite side of the “road” to St Augustine Farm at SP062007 and fed for about 5 minutes before flying off purposefully to the S. Also a Grey Partridge, a Red Kite and a very pale Buzzard. (Roger Scase).

Forest of Dean     20 Hawfinches at Parkend by the cricket pitch in Crown Lane. At Woorgreens Lake 19 Goosanders (5m). At Crabtree Hill the GREAT GREY SHRIKE still eight Lesser Redpolls, a pair of Stonechats and two Reed Buntings. At Drybrook Road Station 14 Crossbills. Gloucester     The PENDULINE TIT at Plock Court, Longford still today at SO837204. Wellies essential currently. Please keep a reasonable distance from the bird to allow it to feed in the ponds. (Matt Pringle).

Cotswold Water Park East     The female/immature SCAUP on Pit 126 and also on Bowmoor Sailing Lake Pit 125, this morning. (Matt Pringle). Also a pair of Goldeneye of Pit 126. (Les Ditchburn).

Great Rissington     The ringtail HEN HARRIER showed briefly from the white gate just SE of Great Rissington opposite the hangars at 12:45pm. (Roy Shilham).

Tewkesbury     At Cowfield Farm a Barn Owl quartering the wetland area at 4:50pm. (Les Ditchburn).
