Puckham Woods     SW of Warden’s Wood a Kestrel, 9+ Yellowhammers, 30+Linnets, five Stock Doves, two Whitethroats, seven Buzzards, 6+ Bullfinches, four Spotted Flycatchers (including a juvenile), a Green Woodpecker, a Great Spotted Woodpecker, a Jay, 13+ Swallows, 1+ Redstart, three Skylarks, 53 Starlings, 13+ Swifts, 3+ House Martins, a Nuthatch, a Willow Warbler and a male Blackcap. Also five Roe Deer, a buck, a doe and three well grown young. Purton     A Short-eared Owl flying over grassland by the river. 3 Shelduck flying downriver and a male Goosander, also two Curlews and two Oystercatchers. (Chris Newton).

Chavenage Green     A Spotted Flycatcher 300m up the road to Cherington at ST870956. (Vic Polley).

Coombe Hill Meadows     A pair of Little Ringed Plovers still with four chicks today. (Graham Smith per Mike Smart).

Forest of Dean     A Hobby over Woorgreens Lake at 10:50am again today. (Frank Williams). At Cannop Ponds a Buzzard, a Siskin, a Pied Wagtail family, a Grey Wagtail family, a Comma, five Silver-washed Fritillaries, Gatekeepers, Meadow Browns and Speckled Wood butterflies, Emperor, Brown and Southern Hawker dragonflies. (Chris & Phil Andrews).

Symonds Yat     At Yat Rock the Peregrines and their three juveniles, Buzzards, Ravens, Stock Doves, a Green Woodpecker, a Spotted Flycatcher, two Bullfinches, a Linnet, a Great Spotted Woodpecker, seven Mistle Thrushes, Long-tailed Tits and a Barn Owl on Coldwell Rock cliff face. Other sightings included Holly and Common Blue, Ringlet, Silver-washed Fritillary, Meadow Brown, Gatekeeper, Large and Small White, Small Copper, Speckled Wood, Peacock and Red Admiral butterflies, Hornets,Wood Mice and Bank Voles. Frampton pools     An adult Yellow-legged Gull, two Water Rails, a juvenile Willow Warbler, 10+ Reed Warblers and a Swift this morning. (Nick Goatman).

Hardwicke to Saul Marina     Along the canal a Common Tern seen at Moreton Valence, Saul and Hardwicke, possibly the same bird, a Kingfisher, a Kestrel with Swallow prey and a female Sparrowhawk soaring with rat prey at Hardwicke, a Raven at Saul and two Yellowhammers heard singing near the marina. Dragonflies included Brown and Southern Hawkers, Broad-bodied Chasers, Common Darter, Emerald and Blue-tailed Damselflies and Banded Demoiselles. (MK). Pic of Emerald Damselfly below.

Berkeley shore     A Yellow-legged Gull, two juvenile Stonechats, four Common Sandpiper, a Kingfisher and a Swift today. (Paul Taylor).

Epney     A Yellow-legged Gull by the river S of Epney again this afternoon. (Jeremy Squire).

Cotswold Water Park East     At Pit 132 eight Little Egrets, 154 Greylags, an Egyptian Goose, two Teal, two Little Ringed Plovers, five Common Sandpipers, four Green Sandpipers, a Whimbrel, five Green Woodpeckers, four Grey Wagtails and a Yellow Wagtail today. (Nigel Pleass).

Cotswolds     At Cassey Compton a Peregrine on a pylon and three Ravens. At Yanworth a Little Owl calling by the telephone box, a Kestrel and a Stock Dove. At Stowell Mill a Hobby circling high, a Kestrel, two Ravens, a Green Woodpecker, a Marsh Tit, a family of Long-tailed Tits and two Nuthatches. (Steve Brown).

WWT Slimbridge    A juvenile Mediterranean Gull, an adult Yellow-legged Gull, five Little Ringed Plovers, a Greenshank, a Cetti’s Warbler, 48 Redshanks and 16 Green Sandpipers today. (Tom Weston-McClung).

Symonds Yat    From the viewpoint today the Peregrines, a Goshawk, a male Kestrel, a female Sparrowhawk, Buzzards, Swallows, Swifts, House Martins, a female Bullfinch, two Little Egrets, eight Mistle Thrushes, Ravens, a Jay, Stock Doves, a Great Spotted Woodpecker and a Kingfisher. Other sightings included Gatekeeper, Silver-washed Fritillary, Comma, Meadow Brown, Ringlet, Green-veined, Large and Small whites, Red Admiral and Holly Blue butterflies, Hummingbird Hawkmoths, White-legged Damselflies, Wood Mice and Bank Voles. Ashleworth Ham     A CE ringing session brought a catch of 93 birds including a juvenile Kingfisher, a juvenile Grasshopper Warbler, nine Sedge Warblers, 32 Whitethroats, seven Blackcaps, 11 Chiffchaffs, two Willow Warblers and nine Reed Buntings. Also around the reserve an adult male Peregrine, c20 House Martins and 20 Swallows. (Mervyn Greening/Mike Smart).

Cleeve Hill     From the Gallops to Wontley Farm, 8+ Swallows, a Pied Wagtail, a Green Woodpecker, 40+ Linnets, 10+ Yellowhammers, 9+ Skylarks, 11 Stonechats, including 3 juveniles, two Corn Buntings, a Kestrel, four Willow Warblers, two Bullfinches, a calling Tawny Owl at Wontley Farm, a Meadow Pipit , two Buzzards and seven Whitethroats. Cotswold Water Park East     At Pit 111 a female Red Crested Pochard with four very small ducklings and a Kingfisher. (John Durell).

Frampton     A Yellow Wagtail and a Whinchat at Splatt Bridge this evening. (Derek Julian).

Also four Oystercatchers, two Little Ringed Plovers (ad & juv), two Little Egrets, a Kingfisher, eight Coots (5 juvs), four Moorhens (2 juvs), five Reed Buntings, three Sedge Warblers heard, five Whitethroats (3 juvs), male and female Blackcap, 200+ Starlings, 30 Swallows, 17 House Martins, seven Greenfinches, a Bullfinch, six Goldfinches and a Stock Dove. (John Fletcher).

Frampton     A female GOLDEN ORIOLE early morning at the Sailing Lake by the Blue Pool (top end), the adult Yellow-legged Gull again, three Common Sandpipers and 11 Great Crested Grebes. (Nick Goatman).

Hasfield Ham     Two Whinchat feeding on grasshoppers this evening. (Martin Greenish).

Other sightings included Green-veined, Large and Small White, Holly Blue, Common Blue, Silver-washed Fritillary, Red Admiral, Meadow Brown, Speckled Wood, Ringlet and Peacock butterflies, Hummingbird Hawkmoths, White-legged Damselflies and a Common Darter. Alderley     A Hobby over the village late evening, mobbed by c10 Swifts and other hirundines. (Vic Polley).

Daneway Banks/ Siccaridge Woods     Two juvenile Buzzards, a Jay, two Green Woodpeckers, a Great Spotted Woodpecker, two Coal Tits, a Marsh Tit, 10+ Swifts, several each of Swallows and House Martins and a Muntjac.  Butterflied included a Silver-washed Fritillary, a Red Admiral, a Comma, c5 Common Blue, a Speckled Wood and numbers of Large Skipper, Small Skipper, Gatekeeper, Marbled White and Meadow Brown.  Also several 6-spot Burnet moths. Lechlade     A Common Tern over the the village centre and a Red Kite, also 15+ House Martins and 10+ Swifts. (Mark Grieve).

Fairford     A Red Kite, 10+ House Martins and 6+ Swifts today. (Mark Grieve).

Sapperton     A Grey Wagtail by the Daneway Inn today. (Mark Grieve).

Stroud     A Kingfisher flew over the A419 adjacent the river Frome/Thames-Severn canal at SO8496804917 Dr Newtons Way early this morning at low level between moving cars. (Michael Cook).

Quedgeley     At SO8112013622 Newhaven Way in the balancing pond adjacent to Asda a Grey Wagtail, a Blackcap and a Whitethroat in the scrub at 9:05am and a very late Orange Tip butterfly. (Michael Cook).

Bussage     15+ House Martins and 8+ Swifts today. (Mark Grieve). On Buddleia in the Garden a Painted Lady, first this year. (Michael Cook).

Stonehouse     A Goldcrest, several Goldfinches, a Greenfinch, a Chaffinch, a Song Thrush,  a Whitethroat, a Little Owl, a Buzzard and lots of Swallows in Horsemarling Lane today. (Alan Jones).

Cherington     This afternoon at Cherington Lake birds included a Sparrowhawk, two Spotted Flycatchers feeding young, two Grey Wagtails, two Bullfinches, five Swifts, nine Swallows, two Great Spotted Woodpeckers, a Goldcrest, four Buzzards, two Chaffinches, 11 Coots (7 juvs), three Moorhens (1 juv), two Mute Swans and a Willow Warbler. Also dozens of Meadow Brown butterflies, a Silver-washed Fritillary and three Red Admirals. (John Fletcher).
