WWT Slimbridge     The male BLUETHROAT showed well in the reedbed from the Shepherd’s Hut at Middle Point at 8:20am but only for a couple of minutes, but again no further sign later. The GLOSSY IBIS was mobile around the site again today. A CATTLE EGRET was on South Lake and the immature SPOONBILL still on the Dumbles edge. Also 3+ Great White Egrets, 10+ Little Egrets and six Grey Herons. Ten Common Cranes on the Dumbles included an unringed adult and two unringed juveniles. Three Spotted Redshanks and four Greenshanks on the Rushy this morning.

High tide distant waders included 180 Curlews, 200+ mixed Dunlin/Ringed Plovers, seven Ruff and three Sanderlings. (Sam Walker). This afternoon three Wheatears at Hock Ditch. (Mike Davis). Between Saul Warth and Splatt Bridge a Marsh Harrier, a Hobby, three Greenshanks, three Snipe, a Ruff, a Black-tailed Godwit, a Tree Pipit, seven Yellow Wagtails and a Swift with a hirundine flock. Another three Swifts over the woods at the rear of Court Lake at 11:10am and a Hobby hunting dragonflies. A little later another Goshawk seen briefly over The Perryway. (Terry Grant). Leonard Stanley     No sign of the albino Swallow this morning but a Hobby hunting over the church. Also 6+ Swallows, two House Martins, a Buzzard on prey and 17 Goldfinches. (MK).

Elmstone Hardwicke     At 1:30pm 20+ Swallows perched on a telephone wire with at least a dozen more in the air. (David Norman).
