Saul     At Sandfield Bridge at 11am a very dark Buzzard over the canal, also at least two Swallows.  At midday on the Severn Way between Fretherne Bridge and Hock Ditch two singing Whitethroats.  At Hock Ditch E of the sluice five Curlews and a Black-tailed Godwit distantly on the river mud, W of the sluice 16 Whimbrels feeding on the grass at 1:05pm, also a male Wheatear on the rocks.  Another singing Whitethroat N of the sluice.  (Andy & Sue Gibbons/Roberta Goodall).

Cotswold Water Park East     At Whelford Pools GWT reserve on Pit 111 birds included two Great Crested Grebes, four Gadwalls, 37 Tufted Ducks, 27 Cormorants, five Chiffchaff, a Sedge Warbler heard and eight Blackcaps. On Pit 111B two Garden Warblers, a Treecreeper, three Cormorants, two Tufted Ducks and two Great Crested Grebes. On Pit 111A five Red Crested Pochards and two Oystercatchers over. On Pit 126 four Great Crested Grebes, six Greylags, seven Tufted Ducks, two Green Woodpeckers, a Great Spotted Woodpecker, a male Bullfinch, three Sedge Warblers heard and two Reed Buntings. Brockworth     Mid afternoon today two Hobbies over the garden, arrived from the Witcombe direction, floated around for five minutes and then drifted off towards Witcombe. Also a singing Willow Warbler on top of a Hawthorn hedge and a Grey Heron flew over prospecting the ponds for fish. (John Miles).
